I had the unfortunate opportunity to do business with Lee HVAC from the moment the Tech greeted me at the door. I was immediately pressured to buy a UV light system. My original complaint was that the inside using froze up and requested a tune up and diagnostic. That lead to the tech pulling everything apart cutting a big whole in my duct work then came that bait and switch. There was a pin hole leak he found in seconds once he opened the door to my AC which is like a miracle of God especially with a hand held leak detection device no dye and no UV light regardless that’s when the outrageous bait and switch came that he would install some UV system that was $3900 and he would fix all the other repairs for free. But if I did t want the UV system it was gonna be $3200 I said I’m on a fixed income I can’t afford that I just needed it fixed to run for now he blew up I called my son in law to help me understand the terminology and why the price the tech got irate totally disrespectful and unprofessional I told him I couldn’t believe that the company he worked for tolerated his lack of customer service and unprofessional condescending behavior never got a receipt no explanation of cost or an estimate for service on top of all the work he had done ripping off the duct tape and foam just thrown in the closet panels left unsecured and unsealed stormed out I informed him I would be filing a complaint he was verbally combative and left never in my life and in my military career have I ever been treated or talked to in a manner unprofessional and disrespectful

Thank you for your review. It is unfortunate. We are sorry that you felt pressured. The Technician did identify a refrigerant leak in the evaporator coils with significant corrosion. It is typical in the HVAC industry to use a hendheld device to detect a refrigerant leak. Refrigerant loss can be the cause of freeze up of the evaporator coil. Additionally, microbial growth was found within the system and circulating through out the home. A temporary fix to the coil would be done complimentary to address the leak with purchase of the Indoor Air Quality device that would help to address the existing microbial growth. Otherwise the cost to replace the evaporator coil would be in that range of $3200. Seems to be some misunderstanding. Another Technician can be assigned if you prefer to confirm the findings.

EXTREMELY HIGH PRICED! The worker was great, professional. He was here 35 minutes to change out 2 breakers and I was charged $460 for labor only. . And I was under warranty for parts so they were free. But they also charged me a warranty processing fee of $240 just to turn get reimbursed the 2 breakers. I would NOT recommend this company to no one.

    Mr. *******
The pricing is appropriate for the region to send a certified technician to your home to identify what is at issue with the system. The issue was identified and corrected in very short time as you mention. Warranty parts are provided by the manufacturer to the technician at no cost and there is no reimbursement to the company. The warranty processing fee helps us to recover costs of warranty service not covered under manufacture warranty. Travel fees, etc. We cannot provide warranty service free of charge. All services do require your signature approval to proceed. No surprises.

You are off your rocker if you think you prices are appropriate for the region. At $460 for a half hour or even piece work it’s outrageous. I have put this out there in media outlets and have received many many replies regarding your company and zero had anything good to say. You are clearly ripping people off and it needs to get out there that your company a rip off. I’m just getting started with you and you need to be taken down. You’re not even an accredited company. You’re pathetic for taking advantage of people.

We had this company come in to do a free tuneup on our 5 yr old air conditioner. Ended up spending almost $5000 for a new water heater. We were told that it was absolutely necessary to replace our water heater and the piping that goes with it. At no time were we told of any other options. We were told that our water heater was about to explode! The day after this WH was installed, I started looking at the prices of water heaters and was blown away at the price we paid. The technician, I believe, used a scare tactic to get us to act immediately and purchase this (Cadillac) water heater. We’re very upset about this. My husband and I have both called the owner/manager about having it removed and replaced with the same size WH that was taken out. I was told by him that they are a 5 star business and do 5 star work. He has told my husband that he would call him back 3 times, and has not. I believe they take advantage of senior citizens. Five thousand dollars for a water heater is ridiculous! And on a limited income it is going to put a hardship on us to pay this thing off! What a freaking scam! If I could, I’d leave a -5 star review. If you get an ad for a free service on your air conditioner or anything else for that matter, from Lee Heating and Cooling, throw it in the trash is my advice.

Had new heat pump/ac installed in June, 2024. Unit is not cooling in September, 2024. Called they sent technician out on Monday. He worked on this brand new unit for over three hours, said it had too much freon, not to use the air filters I had bought because they were too thick, stating that it would take hours for unit to cool down properly,, etc. Here it is Wednesday, unit has been running nonstop for three days, finally got to 76 this morning because it’s cooler outside, but still not at set temperature. They are sending the SAME technician that couldn’t repair it on Monday. When I called this morning to inquire about sending the same person, they seemed not to care. Obviously they didn’t pay $14000. for something that doesn’t work and it’s not their electric bill climbing for a unit that runs continuously, but never gets cool!

Gary *** does not want to take any responsibility for his business. Upon contacting him he started swearing and said he was not associated with this in any way but continued to ask detailed questions. Be careful when dealing with this company.

Gary Lee takes full responsibilty for the business. Leehvac maintains a large client base helping folks on the panhandle of Florida. Mr. ***** was contacted for repairs needed. He was very rude to the staff and antagonistic We prefer he does not call for service going forward. Consideration is being made to blacklist from services.

My elderly mother has dementia and this company has tried to coax her into replacing her entire HVAC unit twice. This last time (February 2024) the technician came out for a check up/ service. He disconnected her heat and told her that deadly levels of carbon monoxide was leaking from the unit and that she would need to pay $13,000.00 to replace the enitre HVAC unit or she would die in her sleep from carbon monoxide poisoning. Mom called me and I reminded her that we have a home warranty policy for her residence and that I would call them. The technician did not like that response and advised that the warranty would not fix anything and he told me that mom could die in her sleep if the warranty contractor said that he couldn't find a leak hooked the heat back up and turned it back on.
The warranty company was called, Milton Heating and Air sent a technician out. No gas leak was found. His gas meter showed zero carbon monoxide. I have my own meter and guess what...zero carbon monoxide on mine either. Yes her system is old and will eventually need to be replaced. Just will not be replaced by Lee. Trying to cheat and tak advantage of an elderly widow with dementia is about as low as you can get. Predator companies like this makes it difficult to trust the reputable companies. I'm sure that Lee will ad a disclaimer to this by claiming that it was all a misunderstanding like they have done on the other negative reviews I have read but do not believe it. This is the second time in two years that they have tried to trick her into replacing her entire system. It may be an older system but the Carbon monoxide detector is new and the alarm has not been activated yet either

On 2/12/24, Lee Heating and Cooling sent a team of 3 workers (Malik, Larry, and Brennan) to perform an air duct cleaning at my house at 5394 Fawn Ridge Drive in Midway, Florida. They were very thorough and efficient in cleaning my air ducts. They were very careful as they worked around my extensive and expensive nautical collection .I was very impressed with their teamwork and they were very respectful to me . Malik showed me the before and after pics from their work. I highly recommend this service and this team in particular.

Their technician Mark lied to my elderly mother and attempted to tell us that our whole unit had to be replaced. We were quoted almost $11,000 for a new unit. I decided to have another company come out for a 2nd opinion and he fixed the problem in less than an hour for 94% less than I was quoted by Lee's. Preying on elderly people is unethical and unacceptable. Stay away!

Updated to add that Steve the "manager" reached out and he's just as crooked. Kept saying my system was "so old" which is why they wanted it

replaced. I bought my house brand new in 2021?! What?! I explained that we weren't given the option to fix it only replace and he kept circling

back to "it's so old". ?? it was manufactured in 2017 apparently. Who cares? Why lie and say it wasn't fixable. Just noooooo. Literally anyone is better than these crooks.

The customer was contacted to discuss. As a standard we give an estimate for systems over 10 years old so folks can plan for replacement. This system has no warranty and will begin to cause ongoing expense to the homeowner. We would not take advantage of the elderly. Best of luck with the repair and we are hopeful it will be a lasting repair.
