On 8/19/2022 I hired Cell Phone Repair CPR McDonough to repair what I believed to be water damage to Mac Pro. They appeared to be qualified to perform the service considering 4/28/2022 they successfully repaired an iPhone for me. At that time they had an advertisement that they fix Mac laptops for water damage for $99. On or around 8/23/2022 a representative from CPR called stating they had completely took apart the Mac book pro and found erosion. Please note, taking apart the Mac book was outside the scope of consent of work. They quoted to repair it for an additional cost that exceeded what Apple charges when you mail it into them considering it was under AppleCare at the time. I contacted CPR to make arrangements to pick up the device. On 8/27/2022. Representative stated they needed an hour to put the Mac book back together. Upon arrival another representative stated it wasn't ready and it was into pieces laid out on a table that they would contact me when it's put back together. On 8/28/2022 I called CPR who stated the Mac book was now put back together. I arrived at CPR and was handed my Mac book now in worse condition then what I brought it in to be fixed. It is completely unusable, with a black screen! The representative stated it became in worse condition with them because water damage gets worse overtime and they wouldn't be able to repair it. I've made numerous calls to CPR corporate and left numerous messages to no avail of contact.Initial Complaint

On Aug 6, 2022, I spoke with Josh and purchased an IPad Air 4, 5th Generation in Starlight color for $350. I put a $100 deposit down on that day and paid the remaining $250 on Aug 12, 2022. He confirmed receiving the money on both of those days. On the 2nd and final payment, I did ask for the estimated delivery date and tracking number and I never heard from him again. He is selling items from the store with warranty on********** It now seems to be a scam he's running using the business as a backup to his fraudulent activity. And I'm referring to it as fraudulent activity because on Aug 7, 2022 at 9:30 pm he texted advising me that I could pay another $50 and he would just deduct it from the balance or I could just pay the $250 on that coming Saturday as we had previously agreed upon. Then the following day on Aug 8, 2022 at 9:22 pm he texted again wanting to know if I could pay $200 at that time he would go ahead and excuse (waive) the other $50 and ship out the Ipad to me because he was $180 short on a pallet of phones he was trying to buy. I did not respond to his request until Aug 10, 2022 @ 1:34pm. I declined his offer and advised I would be sending in my payment on that following Friday as we previously discussed. And again, he reiterated the same deal for the 200 flat because he was needing the $180 for a pallet of phones. It is very disappointing that someone with a business would still have the audacity to be scamming others. I don't see but 2 possible resolutions for this matter. One is a full refund of $350 in the form of a cashiers check or money order for an item that was purchased in good faith and never fulfilled by Josh or the company he represents. Or two, a new (not used or refurbished) Ipad Air4 5th generation in starlight color. I will not take a chance in accepting a refurbished unit from him because his morality has already been called into question.
