1 starThere should be -0 stars for this company. The location was about 20 minutes from the airport. The van that picked us up was filthy dirty, smelled of smoke and seats were torn. Also the driver was not friendly. When we arrived at the car rental location, there were 4 customers ahead of us and they were all having issues with the agents because they were being overcharged and being harassed by the agents. The agents were all rude, unprofessional and insensitive. It appeared that they were trained to scam the clients. We waited for 45 minutes before being waited on. We watched 2 of the customers walk out without renting a car. When we were finally waited on, we were told that our insurance was unacceptable (even though we had the declaration page that they requested the day before the booking). We are 74 years old and have had the same insurance for 40 some years. We have rented cars all over the United States and Europe and have never had a problem. The only way we could rent a car was to purchase Nextcar’s insurance which was over $300, pay a couple hundred dollars ahead for toll fees and be charged $1000 for a deposit. When we declined the insurance, they said they could cancel our reservation but could not refund our $180 deposit. The agent had no compassion and was rude. She said Travelocity would have to refund our money. We left the building and had to get Uber for $35 to take us to our hotel. We lost four hours dealing with the car rental and ended up with no car. Our trip was ruined as a result of the scamming and bait and switch operation that occurred with this Nextcar. It is amazing that this company is allowed to operate by taking customers to a remote location and then try to exploit them with ridiculous charges. A lot of elderly and foreign customers are being swindled because of the situation that they unexpectedly encounter. They are put in a situation where they are at the mercy of Nextcar. This company needs to be investigated and closed down!!!!NextCar Orlando

1 starNexcar misrepresented their offer of a budget car rental $160 for a week in Orlando. Hidden in the small print (somewhere) were extra chages i.e. added driver, insurances, tolls, fuel and deposits. At the counter the day of pickup, these changes exceeded $500. Afterwards, the car is brought into first view. A car scratched, dented and dirty was expected that I drive away in. When I asked for another car, I was told they're all like this. I cancelled the contract and had to pay $125 to walk away without recourse. This was a third party booking by Expedia. Lesson learned! I'd like a refund for monies spent where neither the expected product or service happened.
As I explained to the clerk that day, I already had a transponder and my own account for tolls. She said it would not work and possibly double bill. And I was compelled to add the charge for tolls in the rental contract. Later that day I rented from ***** Car rental and was allowed to use my transponder and was not double charged tolls. Which in my case was only $30 in toll charges for the week. The daily "unlimited" toll charge by NextCar was exhorbant and unnecessary. The additional driver "my wife" was included at no additional charge. Another complaint was in the event of emergency or break down towing was to at my expense back to NexCar which had only a fee locations to do so. Canceling the reservation was a part of canceling the contract before actually driving off the lot. This should not have been so complicated. The car was damaged and scratched in several places already. Thus is the indication that the vehicle(s) are poorly maintained. And to rent "at my own risk" is a poor business model. 1 starAbsolutely 100 percent scam. The address listed for this business is 100 percent false. They are located in a shopping center almost 6 miles from the airport. They will nickel and dime you for thousands of dollars. Good luck you have been forewarned!! Don't go through Priceline also they don't mind the scammers.Review fromChase S

1 starThis is the worst rental car experience that I had since I’ve been alive! The rental car center is located in a actual used car lot with broken down cars mixed in the fleet. I reserved a luxury car, but I was told No luxury cars in the fleet right now and ended up with a sports car. I have a credit score above 800 and was told that I needed to put a 500.00 hold on my credit card. When I returned, I was shocked by a violation fee from a second party of 25.00 + plus tolls . I few days past when I checked my credit card, it was another 25.00 + tolls It ended up charging me 100.00 in tolls from Tallahassee fl to Miami fl round trip! I had to cancel my credit card and place fraud alert on this third party toll company they use. Listen, I’m easy to please, but this rental company is worst than BEDBUGS! RUNNNNNNN!NextCar Orlando

1 star0 stars. Shuttle was ok. Had to wait oustide in 100 degree temp with infant waiting on a car. Other people were stating they had been there waiting 1.5-3 hours and still no car. Was I really supposed to wait in the heat with 2 small kids for hours for a car??? Waited 45 min and then paid them $10 to go back to the airport and rented from Alamo, which had us in a car in 15 min. Forfeited my money to this subpar business. NEVER again. 1 starI prepaid for a 5 day rental through a third party. The booking info and the confirmation info state that the booking came with unlimited mileage. When I went to pick up the car the agent stated that the car only comes with 50 miles per day and unlimited mileage costs an extra $25 per day. Yes: even though I have proof that I booked unlimited mileage. They just flat out lie. I did not accept the extra cost so could not take the vehicle. The agent stated that I would be able to get the prepaid amount back from the 3rd party booking agent. Unfortunately the third party is stating that they are unable to get in touch with nextcar to confirm the refund. These people are thieves and are intentionally committing fraud.Review fromJanna O

1 starIf zero stars were only an option! I wish I had read other reviews prior to giving my deposit to this horrible company. We waited 40 minutes for a shuttle when it was promised to arrive every 15 minutes. Then they stuffed as many people inside as possible. Riders were sharing seats and sitting on the floor. Hidden fees like you can't believe. The rental was quoted by Orbitz for $160. After arguing, calling Orbitz, and providing 3 different proofs of my own insurance, I still paid $484. Learned about all of these "surcharges" on the day-of pickup. I said fine, I will just cancel and take my deposit elsewhere. Then they told me cancellations can only happen 48 hours in advance. Of course, now it was too late to use another company as last minute reservations were even more expensive. Every customer in the entire line had major issues! The lobby was packed with passed off people. We waited over 2 hours because everyone ahead of us was complaining and scrambling to provide proof of insurance. (if you don't buy your car insurance from a very select list of providers, you are FORCED to pay over $40 per day extra). I asked for a printed statement explaining all the fees. My request was refused. They don't want you to see the asinine charges with your own eyes. After all that wasted time I have in and paid the total. Then we waited more time to actually get the keys. What a way to start a vacation. Good thing we are going to the beach, because I need time to relax and wash away this crappy experience. The poor staff in this place! They all need to look for happier and better jobs working for companies in happier environments. Even the DMV would be an upgraded job! 1 starIs a zero star possible!!! I did not book this on my own this is some **** hole ********* booked me. I don’t write reviews usually but this place has to be the worst business I have ever dealt with. I own a brand new car with total full coverage they told me I have to pay $89 because my policy only has 100k collision and not 300k. I told her there is no way and you have a credit card that has coverage. Needless to say I either paid after waiting an hour to even get to the counter or find another place but you aren’t close to anything to do that. Let’s talk about the wait 2 hours total to get a vehicle. An hour in the room and an hour outside baking in the heat. Horrible customer service. I listen to them tell every one that want up to the counter they needed to purchase extra insurance. One couple it was $900. The place goes by different names ******, NextCar and one other one. ****** reviews says it all. This place has to be illegal. And how can they continue to operate with all these bad reviews.NextCar Orlando

1 starWill never use this car rental again. I have rented cars many times and they have always accepted my comprehensive insurance. They told me when I got there that I had to show proof of $300,000 liability. This ended up in me paying $29 a day, a total of $178. That is nothing more than a scheme, as I was renting a Nissan Kicks, not a Lamborghini. They have offered me half a refund, but a fiasco like this should require a full refund. To say the least, I will never be renting from them again. It was not my decision to use them in the first place as it was the third party booking company that took me to them.
