Date Saturday 28, 2025 around 1.45pm This past Saturday, I went to the shopping Center (************************) with my husband for a treatment. While he was waiting for me, he stepped out for a short walk in the area, and during that time, our car was towed. When we went to the towing company to explain what happened, we showed proof of my appointment at 12:00 p.m. and the payment receipt, but they refused to look at any of it or listen to us. On top of that, the service was extremely poor they speak to a lady through a window that was completely covered, so you cant even see who youre talking to. It was a very disrespectful and frustrating experience.Initial Complaint

Dolphin **************************** trespassed to my parked at the shopping mall vehicle and locked the steering wheel by seat belt. In this form the car was towed to their premises where I was charged $210 for their services. It is a felony to penetrate to the private property without permit.Initial Complaint

Title: Predatory Towing I Was a Legitimate Customer Review:I had a terrible experience with Dolphin Towing & Recovery in *****************. I parked in a shopping plaza where I was actively shopping and had receipts to prove it. After spending less than two hours at one of the stores, I returned to find my car had been towed. There were no clearly visible warning signs about towing policies, and I was never approached or given any notice. I was forced to pay over $210 to get my car back, with no explanation other than "you left the plaza."This company is clearly targeting unsuspecting shoppers and towing cars within minutes of parking, even when you are a customer. After researching them, I found dozens of similar complaintsincluding on BBB, Yelp, and Redditdescribing nearly identical predatory behavior.I believe this tow was wrongful, and I am disputing the charge with my credit card company. Im also submitting this complaint so others are warned and proper action can be taken.Desired Resolution:I request a full refund for the towing charges and for Dolphin Towing to be investigated for predatory towing practices that may violate Miami-Dade County regulations.Initial Complaint

On March 23, 2025, my vehicle was towed from ************** South: 168th | ******************************************* Towing and Recovery, *******************************, for an alleged parking violation. My vehicle, a Grand Cherokee, weighs less than ****** pounds. The fee charged was for a Class B vehicle, which, according to Miami-Dade County towing regulations, is defined as: "Sec. ******. - Definitions. ... (2) Class A Vehicle shall mean a vehicle with a gross weight up to ****** pounds. (3) *************** shall mean a vehicle with a gross weight between ****** and ****** pounds..." Furthermore, the towing company charged me $210, exceeding the Miami-Dade County maximum non-consent towing rate for a Class B vehicle, which is $208.65, being $145 for a vehicle considered class A. This discrepancy raises concerns about their billing practices. Adding to my concerns, there was no security or parking enforcement personnel present at the mall. This lack of oversight strongly suggests a tow patrol scheme. Moreover, the *** employee who assisted me stated clearly that disputing any fees with them would be a waste of time.Initial Complaint

on 12.21.24 I pulled into a shopping plaza to do some shopping and eat lunch. We were on vacation and was doing a little site seeing in the process. We walked across the street with the full intention of coming back and shopping within the plaza, and when we came back our car was gone. Dolphin Towing had towed it to a location just a few miles away. When we searched the parking plaza for a sign we found one, but it was covered by a crosswalk and other signage for the plaza and in the heavy traffic it would be next to impossible to see it while avoiding an accident while crossing the street into the lot. We had an **** take us to our cars location to get it and Dolphin Towing charged us $210 to retrieve our rental car. I don't know how a business like this could be allowed to operate; They don't at any point seek a conversation with the drivers of the vehicles to see what their plans are, they just tow and expect the owners of the vehicles to pay a $210 service fee. This by every definition available is a predatory scam and should be regulated.Initial Complaint

On 12.25.25 ( Christmas Day ) around 3 pm my car was towed without any clear reason and my disabled permit was clearly displayed since the car was parked in a disabled spot ( they dont have even respect for a disabled person at Christmas ) , the car was at the ****************** in *********** . I ended up paying 210$ and they refused to give me a receipt . The car is not driving like before , they broke something and I have to figure it out .On internet I found out they have been doing this for years and no one is stopping them.Initial Complaint

On the date in question, I parked my rental car in a shopping plaza parking lot and proceeded to a restaurant within the same plaza. The signage at the entrance of the parking lot clearly indicated that parking was allowed for patrons of the establishments within the plaza. As I was a legitimate customer, my use of the parking facilities was lawful and in accordance with the posted regulations.Despite this, Dolphin Towing wrongfully towed my vehicle, resulting in the charge of $210. This charge is both unfair and unjustified, as it directly contradicts the parking rules outlined by the shopping plaza management.Based on information on the Web including a Local 10 news report, this scam and predatory behavior has been going on for a long time. The District Attorney should look into this scam by Dolphin Towing.Initial Complaint

The incident happened on January 16, 2024. I was parked in a plaza and entered the *** to purchase an item. Prior to entering I realized I had left my wallet in my sister's car which was across the street I crossed the street to retrieve my wallet and came back to *** to purchase what I needed. In the process of me being in ***, Dolphin Towing and recovery towed my car without any basis for doing so. I had to pay $210 to retrieve my car even though I was a patron in the plaza and my car should not have been towed. I have proof of purchase and any other proof necessary to dispute this tow. The representative I spoke with was very rude and would not allow me to present my argument as to why my vehicle should not have been towed. I feel it is very unfair that I had to pay $210 for being in the store for 4 minutes which is where my vehicle was parked. I would like the BBB to get involved and investigate this company as I feel they are ripping people off and abusing their power to scam people out of money. In additon, I would like to see how I can go about receiving my money back fully or even partially as I did nothing wrong. I have attached a photo of me checking out at *** with a time stamp exactly around the time my vehicle was being towed.Initial Complaint

11-26-23: car was unlawfully towed without signage after 15 minutes of parking in a public lot outside of businesses we were using. Car was towed 15 minutes from location, in which the bumper was scratched and damaged from the tow truck. Employee was unapologetic, rude, and charged $210.00 on top of Uber drive there, and repairs to vehicle. Business itself has blacked out windows with no identification of signage. Business refused to give me a receipt.
