***** quoted a job to take down dead trees and clean up bushes in my yard, he quoted me $1,500 (later he asked for and extra $100 because he believed he under quoted me), he also demanded I pay him upfront before the job was even done, and asked for cash, I only had $1450 cash and gave him a check for the remaining $150. He had 3-4 guys working with him, took him 3 days to complete the job (10/7-10/9). I should've known there would be an issue from the beginning, when he showed up at my house unannounced after dark 8:30pm, stumbling around and very anxious and we felt pressured and he wanted an answer then and there and wanted to start the very next morning. Several occasions he said he was coming in the morning, so we could put up our animals, but then wouldn't show up until late afternoon. Anyway, after he completed the job it was noted he cut through our electrical wires to our well pump, he just left the exposed wires and didn't even tell us. We called him and he said "get a shovel and start digging", implying that he wasn't going to assist, then later said he had a friend that would help us for cheap if we needed him. We ended up fixing the electrical wires on our own (out of our own pocket) and did not ask for any help from OP Tree Surgeons. At about the same time we noticed the plumbing in our bathroom was backed up, we did not realize at the time this was also connected to his careless work, he had also taken the stump grinder through our sewage pipes. We had 2 different plumbers come and paid 2 separate service fees for the plumber to tell us the pipes were broken from the stump grinding. Again, 2 out of pocket plumbers ($215), when I called *****, he said he was aware that he hit pipes, but didn't realize they were in use, just thought they were some old pipes, and of course didn't tell us! He also took several chunks out of our driveway, which we weren't going to say anything about. We have tried contacting OPTS and they will not return our call
