Horrible company if I could switch to a different provider I would!! Had an electrical issue on their end took them 2 1/2 days to figure it out. Multiple fpl crews came out! And in all this my refrigerator quit working after all this. Fpl refuses to pay me for the cost of the new one.. all because I did not have a repair man come out on a Sunday? I called a few and were not available to come out till the following day! So now Im out 400 bucks because they refuse to pay the replacement fpl customer service is horrible and the claims manager would not even try to make things right . So by me going a buying a fridge to save my families food cost me greatly and not being fairly compensated ! Fpl your a joke!Review from Brenda G

My experience with Florida Power and Light (FPL) has been nothing short of disappointing. Despite the growing importance of renewable energy, FPL seems stuck in the past, prioritizing profits over the interests of its customers. One major issue is their stance on solar energy. Instead of embracing solar power and supporting customers who want to invest in renewable energy, FPL has actively worked against it. Their attempts to undermine net metering, by misleading customers into believing they were subsidizing the wealthy, were not only deceptive but also harmful to progress towards a more sustainable future. It's disheartening to learn that FPL has a history of lobbying politicians and influencing legislation to prevent the widespread adoption of solar energy. This behavior demonstrates a clear disregard for the well-being of their customers and the environment.Furthermore, FPL seems to overstep its bounds by taking on roles that should be handled by regulatory bodies like the ************************** Their efforts to limit consumers' ability to install solar panels on their own homes only serve to further entrench their monopoly and stifle competition. What's more, FPL's obligation to allocate funds to renewable energy, including solar, should have been a step in the right direction. However, instead of empowering customers to install solar panels, they lobbied the ************************* to install megawatt systems, effectively keeping all the profits to themselves. This move not only undermines consumer choice but also hinders the potential for distributed energy generation.Overall, my experience with Florida Power and Light has been marked by frustration and disappointment. I urge others to consider alternative energy providers and support advocacy groups working to protect consumer rights and promote sustainable energy solutions.Review from Terri B

The absolute worst customer service ********************** on the face of the planet. You cannot speak to a human being, even if you have a real issue! We had a power audit done over two months ago because our bill actually went up $40 during a month that we were out of the country! Figure that out! After repeated attempts now since January 15 still no resolution. We miss our Gulf Power people, where you could walk in and speak to someone and get something actually done. If I could go total solar power and not use FP&L. I would absolutely do it.Review from Cole H

FPL is a joke, impossible to get ahold of someone after they over charge you 2 times every month. Then when you do get a hold of them they state you have already paid it they aren’t sending your overpaid money back. They are jokesReview from Susan W

We are FPL customers since July, 1986. Recently, FPL shut down our account - not just electricity. Each time I have called (& waited to talk with a real FPL Representative, we have gotten a different reason for our account being discontinued. One reason was non-payment, but FPL sent 2 over-payment checks. Another reason was that FPL did not have a record of our home's Certificate of Occupancy - we started our FPL account in 1986! I just had to pay $200 deposit to start a new account, on top of paying for electricity. I am totally perplexed, disgusted & feel unfairly treated with no way to resolve my complaint. Nor can I take my business elsewhere.Florida Power & Light Company Response

they have no customer service at all net metering are they worse .I have sent all documents needed, but they have not turn my solar back. keep charging me for a power that actually mine from my solar. we had solar-powered for 5 years. only switched the name on the account and 3 month later and they still charging me for my power. never seen anyting like this, unfortunately they are the only power company in the areas. now we are at their Mercy. nice how they do that no one to talk to you to solve the problem all they could do is, will put a ticket to have some to "email you" not call no no "Email you"no office is open either. still planning it on cov19 how nice. maybe they some one should tell them its been over for over 2 years now !!Review from Jeannette L

Horrible company, sadly we don't have another option in South Florida. They overdraft from my bank account because they didn't updated on their system, they took $30 dollars from FPL account, and my bank charged me $36 for overdraft (an account that I don't use anymore), called, and just a machine talks all the time, need to start taking talking over the machine saying need a customer services a few times, so they can pass the call to a person, and garbage customer service, don't know how to work with customers.Review from Joseph H

An absolute terrible company with every thing they do. I have unfortunately had their service for over a year, and I have had nothing but problems with them. They are lazy with their updating of accounts, their customer service is awful, and they are just not worth the time and effort to talk to. My bill, that I just paid Monday, went up to 317 dollars. When I called about it, I was on hold for 22 minutes, just to have the billing "professional" put me on hold again. They seemed to send me to an outsourced department and when I told them it was their s**** up and they needed to fix it, they just simply said I had a bill that I needed to pay. I am just tired of trying to appease all these incompetent people that work in Florida and it just really ***** that they are the only game in town. They know that, and therefore have no desire or expertise to help anyone.
