On September 3, 2023, my family and I rented two hotel rooms while vacationing in ************. Shortly after arriving at the hotel, we noticed a stench in one of the rooms and immediately notified the front desk, requesting another room. Our request was denied, and we were told someone would be sent to the room to address the smell. We also noticed that the room did not appear clean well, such as food crumbs under the bed. Not long after arriving, my family and I decided to go to the beach, and upon our return, we discovered roaches crawling on a pillow on the bed. When I asked my mother and sister, who was staying in the other room, they reported seeing a ***** as well. After shaking our belongings to ensure we were not transporting bugs, we immediately gathered our things and left the room. When I notified the front desk on my way out of what happened, they indicated that they would have to speak to management for my refund and call back on Monday, which would be handled then. I attempted to resolve this issue for weeks but kept getting the runaround. Finally, I notified my credit card company, and the charges were disputed. A month later, I was told that my disputed charges had been reversed because South Seas informed *********** that "good were as described and received in good condition." There was an indication while searching for a room that roaches would be present. I have attached pictures of the bug crawling across a pillow AND a video of the episode. I also included pictures of the room to provide proof that this occurred at the South Seas Hotel.
