I had Collis replace my roof from hail damage. After it was replaced I had leaks in my roof by a window where I found out they did not replace the flashing. They came out and rigged it with wood it looked terrible. I complained and they put a piece of metal over it. The leak was still there they came out and patched it again. They told me that would take care of it instead of fixing it right and replacing the flashing. I called the next time it leaked and they gave me a bunch of excuses and it wasn’t their issue. After the last storm they came out again due to the amount of damage and told me that when the rain blows sideways it goes under the window where the flashing was not replaced. I have not heard from them since. This should have all been covered under my 5 year warranty but the choose to ignore it.Business response

Our roof was completed on January 25. 2023. and our gutters were installed February 9. 2023. My Complaint with Collis is they don't follow thru on completing the job to satisfaction from the homeowner. My first problem I encountered was my walkway patio light was broken from a ground tarp that was layer on the ground for roof debris. The roofing Foreman saw the broken Light and took pictures as well as Jonthan S******* our sales person. I was told to get it fixed and send the invoice to Jonthan S******** I got it replaced by the same company that did the original install of my Patio Light. I was told by Jonthan S******* on February 13, 2023 to send him the invoice for the light and he said he would forward it to the right person in his company. On February 10, 2023 I sent pictures of one of my downspouts that was cut too short by about 10 inches I sent Jonthan 2 pictures. On February 20, 2023 I texted Jonthan S******* to get a status of my Downspout getting fixed. He replied on Feb 21, 2023, with Quote "Emailed office. Checking status. On February 22, 2023 I texted Jonthan again and asked why it's taking so long to get my gutter fixed. I asked what's the hold up? Jonthan replied, It was put on schedule. They will be out soon. I also asked on February 22, 2023 about my money being returned for the cost of my patio light. Jonthan replied, It goes to the back office to get signed off and check written, I will be there in the morning and check on it. If check not sent I can grab and drop off. -I responded OK, Thanks Friday Feb 24, 2023, I texted Jonathan and asked, was my check mailed yet? I got no answer So I texted again on Monday Feb 27, 2023 asking the same question, was my check mailed yet? Jonthan answered and told me he never made it to his corporate side that day. He asked if my gutter got fixed yet? I replied No, the gutter has not been fixed yet, Jonthan replied, It was sent to punch out, I'll make sure they get there this week. Again I replied, OK Thank you. On March 2, 2023 I texted Jonthan again to let him know my gutter is still not fixed and I have not received my check for my patio walk light Then on Friday March 3, 2023 Jonathan said, office requesting the copy of invoice be sent to this email so the check can be cut today. *************************** I responded back to let him know I emailed the invoice the same day March, 3,2023 On March 6, 2023 I texted Jonathan again and stated, Jonathan this is not good business having to wait over a month to get my gutter fixed. Is there someone in your company I can escalate my concern to or do I need to get a lawyer to get results.. I have not received any more responses from any Collis Roofing personnel. Bottom Line I paid cash in full for my roof and gutters before my gutters were even replaced. I want my money returned back to me for the cost of my Patio Light and I want my Gutter spout fixed. Thank You *** *Business response

We purchased our new home at 1**** ***** **** *** on December of 2016. After Hurricane Ian in 2022, **** (Our Home Insurance Agency) inspected our roof for damages, Claim number ************** The inspector (Douglas M********, mobile numbe* ************) noticed one loose shingle and he stated that the roof has some premature failure, such as ridge caps blistering and nail pops. The inspector explained to my wife and I that the ridge caps blistering seen to be from a different (older batch of shingles that were installed on the roof when the house was built in 2016 and that the nail pops was because workmanship. Since them the shingle that was loose was glued back on using premium shingle to prevent any leaks. On December 6, Collis Roofing sent an inspector to inspect the roof, he stated that he could not find the defects that **** had previously identified. He mentioned that he noticed that some shingles had loss the sandy surface and that for his Collis Roofing to come out for the loose shingle the minimum amount that they will charge was approximately $600-$700 dollars (I believe that is what he said). But that they were going to send me an estimate (proposal) for the repairs. After a month of waiting I contacted their office but as of today I haven't heard anything. As homeowners we trust **** as a recognized insurance in the United States and have no reason why to doubt them. We are requesting that Collis Roofing honor and conduct the necessary repairs on our roof at no cost to us. The inspector from Collis Roofing did not provide me with a business card or written inspection findings.Business response

Collis intends on taking care of the lifted ridge caps however, there are several shingles that have stucco damage that we quoted as a billable repair as this was no fault of Collis. We attempted to reached out to the customer last week before emailing the detailed proposal over but couldn’t get them by phone. We left detailed message of our findings also advising that the proposal was sent out and ready for review, but we have yet to receive a call back to discuss further.Business response

We’ve left voicemails on both contact numbers provided, attempting to schedule a date and time to complete the warrantied repair. Waiting to hear back from the homeowner to proceed.Customer response

My contract says as told by the sales ***************** that each tile will be screwed on the deck. This was never done Now tiles are literally slid away and I can see the s**** hole on tiles. *********************** has been in touch. CEO didn't care to respond to my emails. This is after spending 73000.00$ on this re roof. They are not reliable and do a very poor quality and shabby work.Business response

Collis Roofing sent out the tile department manager to meet with **************** Thursday January ******************** review, we encountered the correct terminations and flashings were installed at all the Soffit/Roof transitions and there are no loose/slid tile as well as no leaks. The issue is raccoons and squirrels pulling it loose and entering the attic. Although we are not a critter control company, if this service had been requested before the work began,it could have been negotiated into the contract. Since **************** is such a loyal customer, we have agreed to seal up all these areas with some rigid materials to keep critters with no cost to the customer. This courtesy repair is scheduled to be taken care of by end of business today, January 18th, 2023.Initial Complaint

We've evaluated the area of concern and found the issue to be wall flashing. This is something that is not performed along with a roof replacement, therefore not covered under any warranty. We attempted to reach out to the homeowner Monday 11/14 to schedule a water test to show the leak is not coming from the shingles but in fact the wall flashing, and have yet to hear back from them.Customer response

In 2019 I had Collis put an $80,000 roof on my house with a so-called five year warranty. After Ian the roof sprung a leak...I called them on Oct 19, 2022 and they told me their warranty department would get back to me.. I have called them and emailed them and they have not called back or scheduled and appointment to come out. I originally chose them as I was told they had a good reputation....not with me...will not use them again....should be banned from the Bette Business Bureau!Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/11/28) */ Collis Roofing has made contact with the homeowner and has satisfied all warranty repairs needed. Consumer Response /* (2000, 6, 2022/11/28) */ Thanks for your help. Collis Roofing, coincidentally, said they were going to contact me the same day. They sent an examiner out the same week, and this morning sent an intelligent customer service individual to do repairs. Hopefully the problem is solved. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, it may be better for some of these large companies to downsize after the pandemic and do what is necessary to find good workers.Initial Complaint

I had a new roof installed in 2017. I had a warrant but during that time I have had a roof leak in my bathroom. I have called several times regarding the issue. Now the roof is out of warranty but still having the same roof leak in the bathroom. 3 weeks ago they sent someone out to look. He was not able to find anything but did say that they will have to remove the shingles and replace because it could be a nail leak but not sure until they pick up the section. This was on Wed June 28th. I was told I would receive a call the next day by the Person who came out. I never received a call but I did receive a $1,000 bill to fix the roof. I called and spoke to Ashley and she said again some one call me in 72 hours no call again. Called again spoke to Ashley which I was transferred and no supervisor was available. When the roof was under warranty a stack was fixed for the leak. I still have a very bad leak and I don't feel that I should pay. They are dragging their feet. 3 weeks later no call just a bill to fix the roof.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2022/07/19) */ We apologize for the delay but as advised, we needed to get this approved by management and it did take some time. After further review, we have decided to cover this as a onetime courtesy repair, even though it is out of the warranty period. We've attempted to reach out to the homeowner to advise of such, but unfortunately, we have not heard back from them . Please have them reach out to our office so we can schedule the work to be performed. Consumer Response /* (3000, 8, 2022/07/22) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I called Collis Roofing at 8:24 this morning an spoke to Jay. She was going to transfer me to Kim but she was on another line. The reason I called is to schedule the repair. As of 1:10 today I still have not received a call back from Kim. Also, I went back in my phone to look for a call or voicemail which I did not receive from Collis Roofing. I want to accept the offer for them to repair my roof at no charge. Until I hear from them and I am on schedule than I will wait before I answer yes for you to close the case. Thank you. ******* Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2022/07/25) */ We have spoken with the customer and she is scheduled for a courtesy repair for Monday August 1st.Initial Complaint

Collis roofing company or its (subcontractors), workers, installed a faulty roof and roofing deck, shingles and hardware. There were multiple leaks within the roof which caused leaks within our home. There is buckling and multiple grooves, dips, shingle curling and channeling within the roof you installed. This roof is only 4 years old !!!! Two Florida licensed claims adjusters inspected the entirety of the roof both inside and the top decking and the outside of our home. Initial reports were that the install was a complete failure of the initial roofing construction. We will allow the inspection of the roof at yours and ours convenience upon receival of this notice. We have provided both our phone numbers and e-mail for any correspondence between the parties. We have photos and documents supporting our dispute and look to Collis to make good on the this issue. We look forward to the immediate response to this issue before any more damages are placed on our home. We will allow you to rectify any faults to our complete satisfaction. We have also notified many official builders , county and state representatives for their help in this manner. Mr and Mrs ********* ********Business response

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH COLLIS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! EVER! THEY LIE TO YOU TO GET THE SALE! THEY DO NOT COMMUNICATE WITH YOU. THEY LEAVE FOR DAYS (EVEN A WEEK+) AT A TIME WITH NO UPDATES AND AN UNFINISHED ROOF. DO NOT DO IT! LOOK ELSEWHERE! I contacted Collis Roofing and an estimator came out the first week of January. I was promised the following: At that time I told him that I needed this done by the end of January as I received an insurance policy cancellation due to age of roof. He assured me this was NO PROBLEM and could potentially be started the next week or two and done in a couple of days. It's over a month later and not complete. I was told that I would be given free gutters with the purchase of my new roof. I was later told that these gutters would not be provided because I was "given a deal!". This was not expressed to me at all, nor was a deal given (their quote actually ended up being a couple thousand more than two other companies). I was told that all wood would be inspected and replaced, and painted white again to match my home. This was not done. There are several unpainted areas and I was then told that this was not promised. Additional work was done on the Chimney which I paid another 2500 or so, and I was told that it would be fixed up and as good as new. It was left unpainted and a part of the flashing exposed with an uneven tile too. Eventually they sent someone out to do a shoddy job to paint it, but he did not paint the other things I mentioned and left a dripping can of paint on my porch. During their work they damaged my soffit and LEFT A BIG HOLE THERE! They also knocked down all my soffit vents. They told me they don't work on soffits. Soffit work is mentioned on their website. They also told me the soffit fell because it was "rotted" which has been verified as false by the handyman. What happened was they replaced the beams and then knocked a hole in it. SHAMEFUL!Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/02/28) */ We have met with the homeowner on site multiple times to resolve any issues that came up, and he assured our employee that there were no issues. The contract is clear and our website states that we do not combine offers, so it would either be up to 100 feet of free gutters on a new shingle roof replacement, or the $500 off a new roof. Yes, we would replace any damaged wood, however we are a roofing company, not a painter and do not typically paint fascia or chimneys. In this case, we did it for the homeowner as an act of good faith, even though we were not contracted to do so. The soffits were rotted, just like the fascia that needed to be replaced besides it. We have photos of holes in the roof, it being black and deteriorating, likely due to the lack of repairs and upkeep. Homeowner also stated a tree fell on it a while ago on top of the roof being well beyond its life contributes to the wood and soffit rot. Collis Roofing has gone above and beyond for this homeowner and have upheld the terms of our contract. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/02/28) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I was told gutters were included with all roofs. The salesman told me this. Either Collis roofing is calling me a liar or their salesman isn't honoring his promise. Additionally,I was told that the roof would be restored to like new and would be painted to match as best as possible with the white. I was also told the chimney would be replaced fully. This includes paint, not leaving it bare. The soffit was knocked down due to a new board being dropped onto it and the vents fell out as a result too. There was no soffit damage prior to Collis coming out I was also recently called by Jonathan the sales rep who told me that he would reimburse me for my handyman work to fix and paint the unpainted soffit. I sent the receipt but received no response. He also promised AGAIN to handle the gutters, which he has not. At this point I either want the cost of gutters and the paint work reimbursed or I want a credit for both. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/03/11) */ The Collis team has gone above and beyond for this customer, with doing work that was outside of the contracted service agreement. We apologize that the customer wasn't fully satisfied, but in review, we fulfilled our contract obligation. Even so, we were still willing to provide additional services outside of our normal realm in attempts to satisfy the customer, however, he did not give us ample time to do so and he hired a handyman to finish the job. We have since credited him the amount for his handy man, and now hope to receive final payment so we can send out the proper documents to close the job out. Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2022/03/11) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I already sent the final payment to close out the job. As I explained to your salesman Jonathan via text. I told him I'm done with your company and I'm going to continue to advise everyone I can to not use Collis for roofing. I see that you sent me a payment invoice for the handyman work. Once I see actual money transfer I'll consider it closed. I am going on record stating that no effort was made to honor the free gutters despite it being little to no cost for the small length requested. I will let everyone know that Collis doesn't honor their word.Initial Complaint

On 9/7/2021 I filed a roof warranty claim regarding leaks to skylights which were installed by Collis when my roof was replaced in 2018. The claim stated that 3 of the skylights had water damage inside the home. On 9/14 & 15 Collis Roofing LLC visited my home and advised me that the repairs were not under warranty stating that condensation was the problem not a leak. I want to get a second opinion and have the damage repaired but do not want to void to warranty. This is my 2nd claim where Collis left me to resolve the issue following their inspection. The claim dealt with the gutters they installed. In order to protect my property from water damage both the gutters and downspouts in the rear of the home were replaced at my expense. I suspect that this is a pattern and want to ensure that the BBB will support my need to have Collis either perform the repairs if a third party confirms that it is a leak or to not void the warranty if the repairs are performed by another firm.Business response
