I contracted Allied Aluminum in Apr 2022 to build a screen room onto the back of my house. After taking nearly a year to erect the screen room they have yet to complete the job by finishing the permitting process with the county. They are unreachable and will not return phone calls. Here are specifics below:-after the signing the contract Allied was impossible to get updates from and communication from. They refused to update time frames and needs. They told different dates at different moments and were completely unreliable.-Finally nearly a year later they completed the screen project (March 1, 2023). Upon completion, I contacted the owner, ***, within 2 weeks and asked him when they would be finalizing the permit process with the county. *** told me that they would within 2 weeks. I told *** that the final payment we owed them would not be paid until after the permitting process was complete and job finalized. He agreed.-After a month, I began calling Allied asking them to call me back and tell me the process. No one returned calls and no work was done in processing the county permit. Each of the 4 times I called, I explained in my message that I would not pay the remaining amount until the permit process was complete. Each time I asked for a call back. I received no calls back and nothing was done with the county permit.-Finally on June 15, 2023, the owner *** called me back. He informed me that the county process would be completed within 2 weeks. I again informed him that I would not pay the remaining balance until complete. He agreed.Nothing happened again and I began calling. In July, *** told me that it would happen in a few days. Finally, the county came to do the inspection on July 27 the county came and did the inspection. The inspector failed the inspection however because he could not see how the screen room was attached to the house. Allied will not call me back and is not doing anything to complete the permit. We hired Allied aluminum to put a lanai on our house the salesman that came out asked for a gift because she gave us such a low price she never gave us a copy of the contract it was hand written when we signed it and I could not read her handwriting The two things we wanted the most were a solid concrete slab in the 2020 screens and that is the reason we paid for the lanai now that the project is complete we have screen walls that are backwards and its five months after the project was supposed to be completed Allied is now sending us a bill for the ****************************************************************************************************************** the original estimate and I do not want it to reflect negatively on my credit score I do not now or I never did have a copy of a clean contract. I expected the business to make right on what they agreed originally to do and instead now theyre sending me a bill
