On 10/16/20, I had placed an order from Simply Shutters totally $4500. The delivery was expected in two to three months. However, it took 391 days later or 1 year 26 days. The installation was actually done on 11/11/2021 and it was incomplete. However, during the installation, it became apparent there were many issues with the shutters. The first issue was that the entire order which was for TEN windows was incomplete. Only SEVEN shutters out of the TEN were of the correct size. THREE shutters had to be re-ordered because the sizes were totally incorrect. The 2nd issue was that, of the SEVEN shutters which were installed had a horrible and toxic smell which made impossible to be in any of the rooms where those seven shutters were installed. In the master bedroom(which has a sliding glass), and master bathroom, they had to be immediately removed two hours after installation because the smell was so bad, they were removed and were placed outside the house. When the order was placed and prior to delivery, I had requested and expressed my concerns to Doug (the salesperson) and the owner (Steve the owner via email on 3/29/21) to have the shutters free of Volatile Organic Components(VOCs). I also asked for an MDSD sheet to make certain that the shutters would be free of VOCs. To my surprise, I receive from Stevet(the owner) a document in Chinese. I do not read Chinese ! I have also contacted Sales(Dawn) and Steve told me that I would be given my money back if the re-order had also a toxic smell. But, it is almost FIVE months and, I have not gotten an updated from them. At this point and having to wait almost two years, I have decided it is best to get a refund of all the monies paid thus far which was $3241.49(Deposit on 10/16/20 = $2000, Payment made on 11/1121 for an incomplete installation = $1241.49). Once I received my refund, I can purchase non-toxic shutters from another vendor. Please help recoup my money and have them pickup these toxic shutters..Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2022/04/13) */ You have the wrong simply shutters.. company you ordered from is in south Florida. Their fictitious name is simply shutters but business is actually Plantation Shutters INC. BBB please send this complaint to the correct company.
