Hi I went to get a free diagnostic test done on my air conditioner in my car called ahead not aware that a "Free Diagnostic Test" AS ADVERTISED IN THE WINDOW OF THE BUSINESS actually meant 175 up front non refundable. That is a terrible and shady business practice and I plan on leaving 1star reviews for your business on every yelp *************** everywhere of note. Be better don't lie to people.Business response

Hello Dear Representative,
This person came to our shop looking for Free Diagnostics on his AC . He pointed to our window advertising and we explained to him how the Free Diagnostics work. Our Diagnostics is $150.00 + plus tax. However, Diagnostics are Free as long as the customer has the repairs done in our facility. This was explained to ****************** before he decided to leave without having his car checked.
Our employees have families to look after and their time and knowledge are valuable. Please keep in mind, many other repair facilities will charge you for both diagnostics and repair.
We wish the best to **************************** finding someone who can work completely free. He was never a customer in our facility.Thank you,

On Friday December 30th we went to pick up our vehicle after service. As we were leaving we noticed damage to the rear bumper. Without leaving the property, we returned to the service area. We showed the manager the damage. He called the owner and we were told to get 4 estimates, which we did. When we returned with the quotes, the owner informed us that he had no intention of paying for the repair. We want the car repaired to the condition it was when we left it.Business response

This verbal response was taken by BBB.
We have paid to have the repairs made, the customer was supposed to follow up with BBB.

7/13 scheduled tune up with Milex. 7/14. I drove to Milex-stated issue was slow acceleration/hesitation rattling noises at 50mph(max it would go). I went home,Milex called same day;coil packs&spark plugs should fix everything, verbal est for $1400. I say let me think and call back quickly and they now said they have $200 coupon.I authorize.7/15 Milex called;repair done but will barely accelerate to 30mph (issues not resolved)needs new catalytic converters;verbal est given for addtl$3,400.I don't authorize.go to Milex to get truck to repair myself.Taken on ride by Milex empl.in my truck to show problem and while on ride manager at Milex convinces my mother that I did not have necessary skills to do repair myself. She now pressures me and I authorize Milex under conditions that my parts (old catalytic converters)be returned and rear door with broken window regulator be fixed.Milex states would fix window for free but believes *** require they hold catalytic converters for 4 months and able to pick up after that. I speak to Milex almost everyday - parts not arriving and I'm not getting straight answer on whether can return old converters. 7/19 repair done regulator. Given invoice for $4,943.92;invoice not fully itemized, not showing discount. Ask about old parts, manager now says have to send them to the *** so they can't return them. I leave and find door not fixed. Make it 2 miles away, drive down a hill and get a sudden explosion under hood, lose my ability to steer. Call Milex who gives tow#,I call and pay for tow. Milex says bearing caused damage verbal est$1700 with $600 off, final bill $1498.80 - the math doesnt work here. I get the car home from this and find old parts (spark plug) and pieces of fan that blew up still laying around engine. Further notice a week later that radiator shroud not fixed - no way would I ever call a job done with that missing. Request 75% refund+300 for old parts +65 for tow from negligence +50 for shroud for a total of $5,247.04.Business response

Dear BBB representative,
************************ brought his vehicle to our facility with a bad engine miss-fire and lack of power complaint. Upon inspection, our automotive technician found the vehicle in need of Engine Spark Plugs, Coils and a set of Catalytic Converters which cause the miss-fire and lack of power. Our manager spoke with ************** and his mother and informed them of the cost of replacing these items and gave them a verbal quote over the phone. He later on contacted the customer once more and told them that we found the parts cheaper and were able to deduct $200 from the quote we had previously given them over the phone. Customer agreed to have the vehicle repair and Milex technicians perform the work under Repair Order#******.
After repairing and delivering the vehicle to ************************ with plenty of power and No miss-fires the vehicle came back to our facility with another problem shortly after. This time the vehicle's water pump bearing went bad and the radiator fan came loose and broke several parts. In order to get it fix, the vehicle needed a Water Pump, Fan Blade Set, Fan Clutch ,and new coolant. The total estimate for this repair was $1400 + Tax. Customer and his mother agreed to have it fixed after our manager presented the estimate amount to them. Milex technicians fixed the vehicle under repair order#******
The repairs needed for this vehicle were performed and both of them fix the problems at hand. Unfortunately, we are not able to refund the money as requested. We do not understand why the customer feels that we should refund the money for both of the repairs we made but if ************************ has any problems with the parts that we have replaced, he sure has a full warranty on parts and labor that we are more than willing to honor.
As far as the catalytic converter, we were able to find a buyer for the scrap and gave the proceeds to ************************ mother who paid for the repairs.
Shall you have any questions, call us at ************ or email us at *****************************************
Sincerely,
*****************************

I am rejecting this response because:Obviously you are not informed of the actual operations of your business. Whether you are being lied to, or are actively engaged and trying to cover up what happened, I don't know. Let's address what surprises me the most. The $200 was not given to my mother for the scrap value of my used parts. This is a blatant lie and I am appalled that the truth would be fabricated to this extent. There was a $200 coupon given to me before I even knew the catalytic converters needed to be replaced. The $200 coupon was to convince me to repair the coil packs and spark plugs - repair done before the cats were taken off. I would appreciate knowing who the metals recycler was as I am sure this trade in of scrap was documented (dated and naming Milex as a willing seller).
The refund is justified on many grounds, the main one being negligence, the second being deceptive practices were used so your business could profit. You overcharge, you baited me, you talked down on me to my family, you stole from me, you left old parts under the hood, you didn't do repairs you said you would. Heck, you didn't even clear all the lights and told me the brake warning light was a $20 repair and to do it myself after spending $5 grand at your business. Disgusting. You didn't repair the shroud because it was hard to see the damage and you thought you could get away with it. The water bearing was a good excuse, but it was the old spark plugs rolling into fan. It might not have been so obvious if I hadn't found additional ones still left there (with parts of the fan still there after it exploded to reinforce my position). To satisfy, I ask for the price I paid to be refunded in whole - punitively.
Sincerely,
