    In October 2022, Paya withheld $50,767.54 from my merchant processing to satisfy a tax levy. Paya claims to have sent a check to the IRS for the total withheld, but the IRS says they never received it. The levy ended up being satisfied by funds withheld from my checking account by my bank. My tax lawyer and myself have been contacting Paya continuously for the last 9 months asking for confirmation that the check was cashed by the IRS, but cannot get the information from anyone at Paya. The person assigned by Paya, Mark Coward, has been unresponsive and has not returned a call or email since 6/20/23. Today I called Paya's customer service and was told that they didn't have a case in their system for me but that they would create one today. They were unable to tell me how long it would take for my case to be "reviewed", when someone would contact me about it, how I would be contacted, or who I could contact if I didn't receive a response from anyone. Multiple people at Paya have also refused to provide the information for their legal counsel so my lawyer can pursue legal action to get this resolved. I have even tried contacting my Conresional Representative, Barbara ***, to ask for help, but never received a response. I don't know what else I can do except ask for your help.

    My organization contracted with a company called Prolific for online donation processing. That company then sub-contracted ACH processing to Paya. I cancelled with Prolific and then realized we were still getting charged a monthly fee for Paya. It turns out I had to cancel directly with Paya even though they were acting as a sub-contractor. Then they also informed me that they have 60 days to cancel, during which they continue to collect fees. Finally, when the cancellation is actually carried out there is a $199 cancellation fee. Unless they are able to change and demonstrate policies and a company culture that values their customers I would highly recommend finding a different solution.
