When purchasing 2 couches from Lenny's (January 10/2017) the salesperson also sold me a "safe ware" protection policy. I was told that if I didn't make a claim in 5 years, the money would be refunded to me ($199). Yesterday I went to Lenny's for my refund. The office lady told me that it is a courtesy from Lenny's to "credit" the $199 if I purchased something over $599. The original salesperson never disclosed this information. Had I known that was their way of refunding the $199 I never would have purchased the policy. I posted my situation on Next Door and found out another person was also deceived. I would like my money back and full disclosure to future purchasers.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/03/07) */ I understand the frustration of the complainant however I cannot speak to any conversation that may or may not have happened over five years ago. Our Safeware plan does have the added benefit of allowing for a store credit of the amount paid when purchasing an item that is three times the amount of the amount paid for the plan if it is not used. At this point however it is difficult to respond to an accusation that something was said so long ago. This includes some other person saying something on a social media application. As of now, this is the only complaint that has been brought to managements attention of the Safeware plan allegedly being misrepresented. We would like to offer the customer the store credit in full with no "minimum purchase" clause as a potential resolution to this issue. If the customer would like to take advantage of this we ask that they see the Ft. Myers store manager for their gift card in the amount of $199 to Lenny's Furniture for any future purchase. Please contact the store manager by the end of April 2022 to collect this if the offer is accepted. Consumer Response /* (2000, 7, 2022/03/10) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) I was issued a gift card for the $199 on any future purchase with no minimum purchase required. Thank you for your help in resolving my issue with Lenny's Furniture Store.
