I moved from Hollywood to Daytona and this was the worse moving experience possible. Now, let me preface this by saying in the last 5 years I have moved 3 times due to my job and this was nothing short of a nightmare. I started out by checking out Groupon and came across this company. When I called them they convinced me to purchase straight from them instead of through Groupon and they would honor the Groupon price. We discussed prices over the phone and we discussed extensively the hourly rate vs a flat rate and what my final cost would be if I chose either one. I went with the hourly rate, we estimated 8 hours and the gentleman I was speaking to gave me what would be my final cost for 8 hours (this includes travel, packing, and unloading). He also explained how any extra time was calculated. The movers came and I stared my stop watch to ensure I knew what my cost would be. Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/09/28) */ The fuel charge and hourly rate were discussed with the client prior to the move as well. The estimate was sent through an email as well. The client was offered additional insurance prior to the move. The additional insurance was declined. The client was paid out according to Florida state law. No further payment will be paid. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/09/29) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) This is an absolute and outright lie. They never sent me an email with the estimate as they said they did in their response. If they did I would love to see them prove it by providing a copy of it. They never discussed an additional fuel charge either. Everything in their response is a lie. AND, I was paid NOTHING. I would have taken the extra insurance if it as offered or even discussed with me. LIARS. Business Response /* (4000, 18, 2021/12/16) */ The fuel fee was discussed with you prior to the move and you were paid out on the TV in line with the state of Floridas law. We will not be issuing a refund for any of those to reasons.
