I placed a claim in January 2024 till this date 03/04/2024 I have not had one phone call or text return from the adjuster ***************************. I have left numerous messages and text to her personally with not so much as one return call or text. At all costs I would find elsewhere to spend my money for insurance ...there's a saying "you get wat you pay for" enough said. PS I am the claimant not the insured. they do not even deserve the one star but i had to, to finish my review .Review from Maria C

Stay away from this insurance. Processing claims and receiving payment is like pulling teeth. Adjusters are rude and ************************* their supervisor lies. Look elsewhere. I can't believe companies like these exist. I clicked one star because I had to, otherwise it would be none.Review from Kaitlin S

This place is a scam. Im currently hiring an attorney to deal with them because they refuse to answer phone calls or give any updates on my vehicle. I was in an accident 12/3. They dont have 24/7 access like they claim they do because I was in an accident on the weekend and they were closed. It took multiple phone calls and over 30 minute hold times just to get ahold of someone to file a claim. When the claim was filed, i received a very rude phone call from *****************************, the adjuster. When I told her I dont want my vehicle going to Copart ( which is another scam where Mendota keeps cars for free there because they total them and sell them in auction , the insurance company gets kick backs from this). She said I had no choice. After releasing my vehicle I have received no updates from anyone at Mendota, Ive been hung up on twice. My adjuster never answers her phone. Very disappointed with Mendota .I hit a fox coming home on October 10th had to call my rep in order to get a response from the adjuster. Long story short the car is sitting collecting dust waiting for adjuster to respond they lie and say they haven't received information . I used my car payment to rent a car to get my daughter and son to chemo I am tired ****** and disgusted. Mendota bares watching !Review from Corey B

One of there clients hit my car while it was parked on November 7th 2023 everything is on camera. Mendota is almost impossible to get a human on the phone it took me 12 days to put the claim in and get assigned an adjuster.***************************** The adjuster rudely called me on nov 13th took my personal info and has not returned a call since its now almost December im still carless with no response from mendota to date. This company is horrible and I would warn everyone to stay away from them. They are so **********. My recent experience after being rear ended by one of their insured has been a nightmare. It took multiple phone calls to their office before they finally actually answered the phone. The claims specialist was rude and very incompetent. Once I filed my claim and submitted photos of the damage to my vehicle, I heard nothing back from them for weeks. When I reached back out to them (again, after multiple attempted calls) I finally heard back from the claims specialist, who gave me a huge run-around, saying the photos I had taken of my vehicle were "too close" and I now needed to download an app (allowing access to the data on my phone) so that the app could take the pictures and analyze the damage. I was wondering why she didn't tell me about this app in the first place, several weeks earlier? They also claimed that their insured denied any involvement in the accident, despite me showing them photos of his vehicle, driver's license and insurance card at the scene. I am now planning to hire an attorney because it is clear they have no intention of ever taking responsibility for any of the damage caused by their client.Review from Penny

I purchased a vehicle back in June of 22. My father in law whom is 85 years old allowed me to give him the cash and use his credit card for the one time initial payment to begin my insurance. I just recently relocate and had not established bank account there for no debt/credit card myself. In 10 of 22 the vehicle got volunteerarly repossessed approximately 2 days after the repossession I called Mendota to cancel. Unfortunately I figured the truck was gone no need to keep unless information so I shredded. Now in 9 of 23 while watching house and checking mail for my in laws I received a letter of renewal from Mendota. And with that begun the process, they needed proof of repossession so I proved. Now asking for proof of a phone called that happened over a year ago. How do you prove a phone call. Like mentioned my father in law is 85 yrs old and as family member doing his banking is why unnoticed. Second I only gave permission for a one time withdrawal no reoccurring but yet 11 payments with drawn. When asked for proof of permission from reoccurring payments never could get a response. If could give them a zero I would! I bought my car in feb and weekly auto recommended this insurance! (Which is illegal) I wrecked my car with full coverage insurance on 5/31 and I called 6/1 to start the claim and they said I had to have the report to start one. (No you dont) so then I call back on 6/3 and explained they can start one without it! And they started a claim and gave me my claim rep ******* and she would never answer the phone or return my calls. I finally get ahold of her she said my car has been picked up by coparts who was two hours away from me. I said no I just talked to the tow yard and it is still there and she stated oh ok well Ill go Make a claim to pick it up now. And coparts sent them pictures of my car and they stated it was totaled STRICTLY just by the pictures! I told ******* absolutely not! I want a second opinion and she said ok who and whats their name and address I sent it to her. A week later after fighting with ******* to pick up my car I got ahold of a manager ****** and he said she was incorrect and its totaled and there isnt anything I can do about it! They are ridiculous and a scam! Because coparts is a salvage yard and they leave the cars there to resaleReview from Christina H

Mendota Insurance has been giving me the run around about getting my claim paid. Its been more than a month and going on two since I file the claim. The adjuster will go as far as not answering my phone calls! I have provided everything needed to move forward and have also requested an incident reports where the driver admits to hitting my vehicle. Still there is a delay. This is a simple fix and there is no reason for this much investigation.Mendota Insurance Company Response

Mendota Insurance is a less than sub-par insurance company that takes advantage of their clients and manipulates the legal system. Please check any contract language fully and be aware that this is unlike any major brand insurance company IE State Farm, Allstate, Geico, etc My vehicle was stolen and they refused to pay ACV and only offered to repair the vehicleMendota Insurance Company Response

Mendota acknowledges receiving this complaint and attempted to find the claim associated so we could review, contact the parties and determine if we could work towards a better understanding and/or resolution. Unfortunately, there are no details given in the complaint, the zip code provided is not recognized by the USPS and we have not received a response to an email sent to the email address provided.
Decisions made by our claims team are based on a variety of factors including policy language, the standard of negligence, duties owed to first and third parties, extent of damages, statutes and case law among other considerations. While we cannot always deliver good news to customers, we strive to make decisions timely and to fully explain the basis for the decision.
