I hired Advanced Masonry Services, LLC to complete all concrete pads, walls, etc. as shown on attached contract. I have had them working on the job and have paid them $136,250.00 of the $150,000.00 per the contract. I informed them that they needed to get moving on the project as I was being delayed and was suffering costs due to holding my trusses and other projects from being undertaken. At this point they informed me that they wanted more money to finish the job as concrete prices had gone up. First they wanted 10k, then 20k then 30k. I argued that it wasn't my fault or responsibility for more money due to the prices increasing. Advanced Masonry then walked off and abandoned the job. I hired legal counsel to assist in getting them to finish the job but each time we thought they would come and finish they would argue for more money or to lessen the requirements for them to complete. Upon their bad faith negotiations I had another expert come out to the property. The third party then informed me that despite me paying roughly 90 percent of the contract that Advanced Masonry only completed maybe 60 percent of the job. Therefore, it was going to cost me an addition 30-40k to complete the job that they were already contracted to complete. I have now had to hire a third party to complete the job so that I will no longer be charged for delaying other portions of my project. I have included an estimate from a third party that does not account for all of the work, but at least the work to get my trusses.
