Campground membership purchased for $44.00 a year. Membership expires November 04,2025. Called to request refund on one year of membership as we are no longer able to travel. Informed refund not possible because it had been too long since the purchase. Never informed of this rule. So when elderly people find they can no longer use their membership, the company keeps the money on their account and they must be reaping a lot of money on the backs of a vulnerable population. Shame on you.

On 1/14/22 we purchased the Vast Alaskan Territorial Escapade trip for $8,700 from Passport America Caravans/Great American Caravans. Our decision to purchase was based on the itinerary that they displayed online, and info that we received via email from the owner of the company - Ryan *******. The trip was to begin on 6/12/23 and end on 8/1/23. When we arrived for the trip we were given a different itinerary that was significantly different from what was originally promised. We began the trip in Canada and were thousands of miles away from home with no options. Here are some of the itinerary items that we paid for, that we did not get: -Radium Hot Springs (had to pay ourselves) -Chateau Lake Louise brunch -Miles Canyon -The Fish Ladder in Whitehorse, Yukon -Diamond Tooth Gertie’s show -Dawson City and Chicken were bypassed -Top the world Hwy was bypassed -Ferry boat across the Yukon River -Columbia glacier -Salmon fishing -Musk Ox Farm -Camping on the Spit in Homer, Alaska -Halibut charter fishing -Seldovia art village and wildlife cruise -Alaska Sea-life Center -Portage Glacier -Inland Passage Wildlife cruise -Skagway whale watching -Eldred Rock lighthouse -White Pass and Yukon Train ride We were promised a tail gunner- to follow behind the group of caravanners and help with any issues, etc. THERE WAS NO TAIL-GUNNER. Most of the campgrounds were sub-standard. Multiple nights of primitive camping with no services at all. There were usually other campgrounds nearby that offered at least basic hookups. Our Wagon Masters were unprofessional telling the group that they could run their generators when the campground said we could not. They refused to purchase a required Conservation Pass telling us not to worry about it because Canada goes by the honor system so they probably won’t check anyway! Each day we emailed and texted the owner of the company asking why we were not getting what we paid for…THE OWNER BLOCKED OUR EMAIL ON DAY EIGHT OF THE CARAVAN!

Passport America Caravan business (aka Great American Caravans) refuses to refund $6,500 paid for guided RV trip when it was cancelled within their company guidelines. Trip was originally set for June of 2022. We canceled the trip more than 60 days in advance and they let us reschedule same trip for 2023. We had paid in full for trip in 2022 so they kept our payment and just put us in the 2023 caravan. Now we need to cancel the June 2023 trip and they refuse to refund our payment as per their own refund guidelines stated on their web page. They say since the trip was rescheduled there will be no refund. No where on their available company literature is this stated, nor did company executive Ryan Simmons tell us this by phone during reschedule. They claim they will extend our reservation again and let us take the 2024 trip, but will not refund our payment. Their company cancellation policy says they refund the full $500 deposit, but keep 3% of other $6000 payment if you cancel more than 60 days in advance of your trip. We comply with this rule. We understand the 3% charge and have no issue with that. We respectfully request our $6,500 payment for services to Passport America be returned as per their own published refund policy. $500 deposit as a full refund. $6,000 in payments with a 3% cancellation fee of $180, for a total refund of $6,320. This is condensed version of this complaint to meet submission guidelines. See attached documents for more detailed information with copies of email exchanges.
