I recently moved in to my new home thanks to **** and *********. I have THE BEST experience working with Nelson Construction. **** was so professional throughout the process, his team is one of the best. They work with you so close and are very knowledgeable with everything they do. **** was there from day 1 and night even putting in his own time. Working with Nelsons was one of the best experiences I had! I seriously couldnt recommend any other construction company, they are very ethical and I can tell you that you get even more for what you paid for. They are very professional and knowledgeable on what they do. Now I get to go home with my family and enjoy my newly renovated house! Thank you **** and ********* and of course to the rest of the Nelson Construction Team! You guys are THE BEST!Review from Richard M

May 2021: **BUYER BEWARE**
I had the gross misfortune to have used Nelson's DESIGN SERVICES -- run by DOMINIQUE N***** -- for a home renovation. In good conscience I felt compelled to relate this horror story to you as other clients have done.
If I could have given them/her ZERO STARS, I would have. But, alas, FORCED by Google to give at least one star -- it will forever be my PUNISHMENT for hiring them/her.
Our MUTUALLY AGREED, ABSOLUTE, ALL-IN BUDGET was to be NO MORE THAN $150,000 which was REITERATED by us to Dominique throughout several months of her voluminous emails of CAD drawings and web shopping for accessories.
After months -- WITHOUT any WARNING or OPTIONS presented to us to 1) spend more or 2) cut back or 3) stop and go no further -- her designs and her cash register continued to ring escalating it to a **70% INCREASE** and a **$255,000 project**.
Please READ the ****** reviews by two Nelson clients who had very similar experiences with Dominique N*****: both *************** and ************. Their frustrations, comments speak volumes for many of us.
1) *************** He sums it up more eloquently than I: "Do not use this company. Had a signed design and build contract that was not delivered upon. Company attempted to EXTORT more $ to complete the project. $ spent was not refunded upon request. STAY AWAY!!!!" (his words, my CAPS)
2) And then there's the illuminating experience of ************. "Very UNETHICAL COMPANY and it comes from the top with the owners Greg and DOMINIQUE Nelson. The owners will LIE and STEAL your hard earned money. DO NOT USE Nelson construction renovations inc! We signed a design build contract for a home remodel that I paid over $13600 for Nelson constructions in house designer to come up with a design with a budget of 300-400k After several months of going back and forth with the design nelson construction and renovation presented us, we are told the design nelson construction came up with is now DOUBLE or TRIPLE the budget of 300-400k..." IMPORTANT NOTE: There are companies that offer **FREE** DESIGN & CONSULTATION. I found one who's done design-and-build work for other homeowners in my neighborhood, and WITHIN THEIR BUDGET. You can too. Do your homework!

This customer was given many hours of service by our design team, who met Richard and his wife numerous times at their home, spent time doing as-builts, floor plans, renderings, going over samples, and all the options requested by the Moreas. Their initial request was to replace flooring throughout their home and make some cabinet adjustments in various places, as well as remodel one of their bathrooms. Throughout the design process, Richard and his wife decided to add additional work to the design, including a reconfiguration of the kitchen and replacement of many of the fixtures. A second bathroom remodel was added. Since the scope of work expanded, of course the price went up.
Imagine our surprise when, after several weeks of what we believed was good service to our valued customers, Richard called Greg N***** (company owner) directly and threatened to slander us in every place on the Internet he could, if Greg did not refund every penny of the money he had spent on his design. As we had already paid our design team for the designs we had delivered to the Moreas, this was not possible. We are a small family business, not a massive corporation.
We refunded any monies not spent, per the contract signed by Richard and his wife. Richard then emailed Greg his "draft" of the review he would leave on all his social media pages, with the name of his wife (Dominique N*****) displayed in bold lettering so as to make it particularly menacing. He gave Greg an ultimatum that he would post this draft of his review if Greg did not issue his refund immediately. When we did not respond to his threats, he posted his review to a number of sites, and made a point of contacting us again to make sure we knew he had done so.
To be honest, it was very sad and disappointing to receive this news from our clients whom we believed we were helping. We believe that once they realized they could not afford to do the renovations they wanted to do, they decided to do whatever they could to receive a full refund for a design they no longer wanted to use. This is unfair to our team, and we are very sorry our relationship ended in this manner.
