We entered into a contract on Nov 2022 with this contractor - 1-way Roofing (*********************) for roof and house repairs due to Hurricane ***. Work was always subpar, and many, many delays. Calls were not returned, emails were not responded to and now after having a leaking roof and still no car-port or finished ******* room, I finally sent a failure to perform letter, and was told that he will be closing the business. My Mom (the owner of the mobile home) is an 81 year old widower with no source of income. ********************* has been giving us the run-around for close to a year. I believe he saw an opportunity to make a quick windfall due to the hurricane, and is now simply walking away with pockets full of our cash!Business response

1. Please note that our client did not have "ANY"insurance on her home when hurricane *** hit.
2. FEMA gave her $26,000 but was aware there would be a lot more needed to restore her home to its pre-hurricane condition.
3. One Way agreed to help her with her repairs. The major stipulation on our part was we told her we did not know how long it would take to complete her job since we were doing a lot of "free work."
4. In the beginning, we agreed to do half of her roof, however, our client's HOA demanded that was required to be repaired. We graciously put a new roof on her entire home and as such, the value of the roof job went from $10,000 to $20,000.
5. We have repaired all of her damage with the exception of the carport for a total of approximately $35,000.
6. After receiving an official letter from the client's daughter stating the lies she has repeated in this complaint, and in other social media venues, we decided we were no longer able to continue to do anymore free work for them.
7. Instead of gratitude, this client has trashed us and lied about the work and somehow, with a new roof, lanai roof, flooring, walls, and other minor repairs, feels like she is owed a full refund.
8. We are saddened by this turn of events and have learned that no good deed goes unpunished and to never again help people as we have done in many catastrophic storms in the past 30 years.
