      Their billing is deceptive. When you walk in the physicians office they have a small sign stating there will be an additional facility fee . They do not tell you this when you make an appointment, nor do they tell you the fee is over $600.00. Insurance companies may pay a portion of the fee leaving a large balance for the patient to pay. This is certainly deceptive. My husband office visit cost us hundreds of dollars out of pocket, when the typical office visit is under $50.00.

      I called my primary care physician about an emergency situation that needed prompt action. I never heard back and it's been over 2 weeks.When I went to the emergency room expecting an outpatient surgery for a stuck hernia. Instead, they put me into the hospital for 3 days, delayed the surgery and put me on sugar water and insulin, that caused diabetes. Then they labelled me "diabetic"!I found a new pcp and want nothing more to do with Lee health.

      Horrible business charge exorbitant facility fees without notifying patients for routine office visits will cost thousands for typical office visit without prior notice borderline illegal

      I appreciate you taking the time to express your concerns regarding your hospital bill and I want to apologize for your dissatisfaction.

      Regarding the charges and our fees, we understand the cost of healthcare can seem overwhelming.It takes an entire team of professionals, state of the art equipment,facilities, medications, and supplies to provide the high quality care that is the hallmark of our services to meet the needs of our community.  Lee Healths charges are lower than the average for many other similarly situated hospitals.    We are not for profit and receive no direct tax dollars. We strive to keep our costs for care as low as possible. Charges are based on both historical data and the negotiated payment.

      Unfortunately, there is no way to negotiate your balance because it is your deductible and we are required by contract to charge you the deducible you agreed upon with your insurance policy.

       I understand unexpected medical services are difficult financially.   We are able to offer a payment plan to help spread the amount out over six months.  Please contact our office at ************* to set up a payment plan that will work for you.    If more time is needed, we can also offer you MyCare Finance as an option.   They we will be able to work out longer arrangements with you.   You can apply online at ***************** or reach them at ***************.
