Beach Windows installed a new porch enclosure and 2 new doors for a condo I own in Cape Canaveral, FL during October through November, 2022. The external porch door has leaked since installation. The door cost $2000 and is allegedly hurricane rated and leaks every time it rains. It always did. The porch structure leaks at the seams. Again, hurricane rated but a basic rain shower causes it to leak. Paid over $20,000. for a partial job that has never been water-tight. Business ignores requests to repair.

Installation Date was January 26, 2021. Price paid $3323.12. Beach Window and Door was contracted to replace an existing sliding glass door (108x79 1/2) with screen. The contract was signed on January 11, 2021 with no order number. The problems: They installed a door that didn't fit properly, that had a scratch in it and the screen had a slice in it. On January 28th, Beach Window sent an employee (Blaine) over to look at our concerns. He said the left panel was 1/4 inch too wide so the door couldn't slide far enough to seal air out. On February 3rd, the owner of Beach Window, Bill ****** along with a representative from Lawson Industries, the manufacturer, Mike *********** came to our condo to view the installation. They concurred with Blaine's assessment. At that time they agreed to replace the the faulty panel. Bill said it would take a few weeks and to call back in early March. Despite calling almost every week since early March, the panel has not been replaced, the screen has not been replaced and the door continues to whistle on windy days. A side note: both the owners business card and the Beach Window and Door contract show the BBB Accredited Business logo on it.

      Business response

      12/01/2021

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/11/03) */ I have been in contact with Mark ****** from Lawson windows. The panels are being fabricated and he has promised I will have them this month, November. Glass has been an issue for the entire year, as they are having a hard time getting it. Robin ****** Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/11/06) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Based on past promises and statements of Bill ****** I doubt that they will install the new door in November. The reason is as follows: I was told in February that we would have a replacement In March. Then I was told on April 9th that it would be in on Wednesday April 21st. Then I was told by Bill ****** that he ordered a new panel on May 19th. On July 14th Bill said the door was coming in on Friday. In each instance the door didn't come in and Bill never called to let us know that. On September 29th, Bill said he was not getting any response from Mark ****** at Lawson Industries. I would like to believe him but he has not been reliable up to this point.
