The only I gave one star wasnt by choice but I had to get this review out to people so they know not to make a mistake in going here. Do not I repeat do not go to this hospital if you are black and you value your life. Im in the medical field and I have never seen such horrible nurses, doctors and residents that do not value human life. Its only for profit and if your love one dies in their hands they dont even give you 24 hours to grieve before they call you to have them removed from their morgue. Its awful and the communication to families doesnt exist. My loved one was treated horribly by them until the day he died on their watch. Please I beg all my melanin people please do not visit this hospital by any means. Please go somewhere you will be treated like a human being

I was taken to BRH by ambulance with excruciating pain and difficulty breathing. I was put into an emergency room cubicle a long distance from the bathroom and given a broken buzzer. I eventually was given a portopottie which after 9 hours was over flowing. I was finally admitted to a room and still had not received relief for my pain. I received the usual x-rays, ekg, and echo and no results offered for my pain. I tried to explain my pain was in my back but being 85 years old nobody took me seriously. A procedure on my back was done on my 5th day and my primary doctor and I have never received a signed report explaining what was done. I was sent home without knowledge of what happened and 2 oxygen tanks which I never used. The discharge diagnosis was osteoporosis, anemia and need for pulmonary followup. After a bone density test and followup I was told I did not have osteoporisis or need for oxygen and was not enemic. During my stay I was ignored and told they couldn't find my nurse. There was no response to my questions and I had to fend for myself during my stay. This hospital is the most horrible example of supposed Healthcare I have ever experienced. I received a survey from Hillsborough Cty. And I explained all of the above on the form. I never heard from them either. I have received a bill from the hospital and truly feel they don't deserve any more than what my insurance company paid them for their negligence and incompetence. I suggest anyone considering going to BRH should seriously reconsider and go elsewhere.

I had to take my child here on Thanksgiving morning as it was the only place near our home I could find that was open. Where to start..... My child had a torn hamstring (we did not know this at the time) and no one offered a wheelchair. I had to grab the wheelchair and wheel my kid in. They did an x-ray and told us that my child had a strained hip flexor. THREE HOURS LATER .... when I couldn't even see anyone in the place... I went in search of the restroom. I saw the attending doc at the counter and he said, 'You're good to go'. I said, 'Excuse me?' and he said, 'Your insurance cleared, so you're good to go'. I was a bit confused by this and I said, 'I was actually just looking for the bathroom, but if we can go, why has no one come to see us in 3 hours??' He seemed really surprised by this. By the time I got back to the room, there was somewhere in there with discharge instructions. They had given my child a shot of demerol and diagnosed with strained hip flexor. Directions were to stay off your feet, take prescription Motrin, take Vicodin, and ice. When you're able to walk, follow up with your PCP. They did not give us crutches. OK so we did that all of Thanksgiving weekend. My child gets back to Philly on Sunday and tries to walk to class on Monday and collapsed. They had to rush to the Orthopedic Urgent Care there where THEY did X-rays and determined it was a torn hamstring! Bed Rest for like 10 weeks and then PT for 12 weeks. Crutches ordered. No flying without the use of a Wheelchair. My child was still doing PT after coming home in MAY for the Summer! Oh and we got notified that our data was breached in the meantime. Finally got the bill and disputed it Just got a letter saying gee sorry you weren't treated well, we can't adjust your bill and this is your last opportunity to pay us or we're sending you to collections. $1500 for what was not even REMOTELY healthcare.

My family member trusted BRH for help with knee pain and died six days later. This hospital employees undereducated staff. Not only did the facility fail an AHCA inspection but now FDOH has confirmed medical malpractice killed my family member. The hospital has threatened me to be silent in their attempt to cover up this fatal mistake. Yet, they continue to employee Rathinam K. who worked below the standard of care. You can find the many news stories and information online as this is all public information.
