Dexsta Federal Credit Union is a terrible credit union overall. Banking here has been a PITA but my current car loan goes through them so I cannot close the account u til it’s paid off. Each time I call to make a car payment I have to jump through so many hoops just to get verified to send them a payment, most of the time this is a difficult task as no one seems to want to help and their communication is poor overall. Sure there’s good day but those are uncommon, the vast majority of visits and calls leaves me frustrated and trying to solve my problems on my own. From having tellers and customer service reps who aren’t willing to help to being understaffed (thanks Covid) to not being able to speak with a manager/supervisor this place is run horrible and upper management should take a comb down through the chain and get rid of some folks. All in all I’d give this place no stars for a rating and hope this feedback keeps others from some headache.DEXSTA Federal Credit Union Response

We've had a history of problems with DEXTA. But this last one made me very angry. I had a car loan with them with automatic payments. After 5 1/2 years of automatic payments, the very last payment was for $5.28 - for some reason, it was not automatically paid. DEXTA did not notify me of this and just sent the regular statements. They sent it to Collections within 2 1/2 weeks, and I didn't even get a notice of that until 3 weeks later. I immediately went over and paid the $5.28. But they still sent it to Experian, who docked us 62 POINTS for a late payment (NOT a missed payment). They never let Experian know I paid it off before the next billing cycle. Experian will not raise our credit score now. DEXTA has ruined our credit rating for one late payment of $5.28! We will NEVER have any accounts or loan with DEXTA again!DEXSTA Federal Credit Union Response

Gail, we would like to apologize for your recent experience with us. Having reviewed your loan’s history, it appears that we were receiving these automatic monthly payments via check. We are unsure of the source of these checks, but they may have been sent from a bill payment service offered by another financial institution. The last payment that we received was in September, leaving a balance of $5.28, as you stated. When we did not receive a payment in October, we began our normal collections process by sending a notice to the address we have on file. On the day that the $5.28 was paid, we waived the late fee and the additional finance charges that were assessed to the loan. In accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act, we report all loan payment history accurately to the credit reporting agencies. However, based on the history of this account, our Loan Services Manager has requested that the credit reporting agencies remove this negative report from your credit profile. This process should take 3 to 5 days to complete. We hope that these steps address your dissatisfaction. Dexsta has to be the most useless bank I have ever used. Today I was told that I could not get my money out of my account using shared services as the name on my FCU account was Sue & the name on my drivers license was Susan! Apparently this means I am not the same person. According to the employee in the branch this is a new regulation for shared services. The name must match exactly. She also mentioned they have had lots of the same problem with other customers. Her solution was for me to contact my bank & have all my cards & account updated with my "real" name!!! I have been a customer here since the branch opened several years ago but still they refused to let me access any of my money. This is absolutely pathetic & is just the latest in a long line of incompetence from this branch. I went to Louviers FCU instead & had no problem accessing my money. They told me that it was perfectly normal to use a shortened version of your name & as long as the account wasn't for Pam & the ID for Sue they had no problem. I will NEVER go back to Dexsta for anything again. This was the final straw!DEXSTA Federal Credit Union Response

Sue, we apologize for the experience you recently had at one of our branches. The CO-OP Shared Branching service is a wonderful benefit of membership in a participating credit union. The service is enjoyed by many of our members and many of the guest members who visit our branches daily. The procedures of the CO-OP Shared Branching network specify that the guest member’s name appearing on their identification must exactly match the name appearing on the guest member’s account. These procedures are in place to reduce the risk of fraudulent transactions being processed on the CO-OP network. Continued participation in the network requires that procedures outlined by the CO-OP participation requirements are complied with. The man that said he was the manager basically was very rude to me and he didn’t care that I was in a rough situation and it was a pandemic... I basically cried due to the way he was talking to me and I still feel like I need peace from this Situation. I normally go to a different branch and talk to some other guy that I thought would be very nice when talking to me but he was not ether. This is effecting my life as it is a pandemic and my grandmother just passed away I chose to call them and ask them can they lower the amount or If I can get this matter deleted due to it’s a pandemic and I had went through something with my job and life situations got them best of me. These people put it in collections and sold my information to someone as a charge off so I’ve been having a lot going on with fraud and had to do a report for fraud and I would like for it to be deleted due to it’s really ruining my life and my health issues due to worrying about this situations. As I said at the beginning these people was very rude and didn’t care at all about my situationsDEXSTA Federal Credit Union Response
