On 2/10/2023 I paid Botticello auto repair to install a new steering rack and pinion as well as a new high pressure steering hose, both purchased new from ******** with warranty. These repairs were recommended by Botticello after a diagnostic, and would restore my steering. However the repairs were done wrong, they didn't flush and bleed the system and then fill it to the proper level, in addition to other possible errors. As a result the steering doesn't work. They also dented my hood and scratched my trunk.Business response

Mr. ******* ****** came into our business and stated his vehicle was leaking power steering fluid from the boot of his rack & pinion.
We brought the vehicle in to evaluate and brought the customer into the shop to show him where the leak was coming from.
The power steering rack was leaking from all of the seals.
We provided the customer a quote for parts and labor but due to his financial situation he was wondering if he can supply his own parts, which we normally don’t allow for warranty purposed, but we felt sympathy, so we agreed. We informed the customer that if he supplied his own parts, it would void any labor warranty.
Customer ending up supplying his own part for the rack & pinion and brought in a high-pressure steering hose for us to replace as well. We replaced the parts for him.
We did not charge him a diagnostic fee due to him telling us what was wrong with his vehicle. We also reduced the price of the labor because the customer stated he was living in a shelter and didn’t have the money for the full repair and can only afford $300. We also didn’t charge him to replace the high-pressure hose that he brought in.
The only charge on his invoice was labor for replacing the rack & pinion and a power steering fluid charge because we refilled it to required amount per the vehicle specifications.
Customer was here for full length of the repair; we take pride in the vehicles that come in and out of our repair shop. We did not dent his hood, and on his trunk, there was a grease mark which we washed and waxed off prior to customer taking his vehicle.
