Very sad that I lost precious Heirlooms. I was mis guided by the drop off employees who insured me that filing a claim would result in the retrieval of my lost items. My mother passes away which was the reason for the move and now all the important items that correlate with her memory have been lost or stolen. I paid thousands of dollars for their service. We recently moved from ********* ** ** ********** *** My experience with this moving company was far from satisfactory. While the staff and movers were pleasant, my overall experience was marred by several issues. Firstly, the movers did not handle my stuff with the care I expected. My dresser and nightstand ended up chipped and scratched during the move, a computer monitor and kitchen glassware were also smashed up, which was disappointing. The most significant problem, however, was the disappearance of valuable items like my expensive men's bike and a pressure washer. When I reached out to the company and filed a claim, I was told that because I had signed the paperwork upon delivery, they had no liability for the missing items. This was extremely frustrating. If you are considering hiring this moving service, my advice to you would be to act as your own supervisor throughout the entire process. Create and maintain a meticulous list of all items packaged and ensure you check off each item as it is being delivered. This extra step may seem unnecessary, but my experience has taught me that it is essential when dealing with this company. Moving a household is already a significant undertaking, especially if you have children to manage during the process. The added stress of ensuring every item is accounted for during the move should not be the customer's responsibility alone. It's deeply disappointing that this company could not take responsibility for their mistakes and left me with missing items and no recourse for recovery.Review from Kevin W

-10 stars would be more appropriate. Shaddiest moving company you could use. I have massive damage to my goods and pointed it out to the movers. They stated it wasn't big deal and it would be taken care of. I just had to file a claim. I did that. Nope it's not. I have to pay for it all. DONT USE THEM. They will lie to you telling you that the damage they cause will be covered. It won't. Their deceptive movers will tell you whatever it takes to leave asap after dropping your goods off. Broken promises and THEFT. Company said one driver would be responsible for entire process BUT my possessions were loaded and unloaded at at least 3 warehouses around the country. Boxes opened, items stolen, boxes taped back up. Company did not know where my possessions were or when they would be delivered. Company has taken no steps to find my possessions.Review from Maxwell S

******* Sep 08, 2021 Local move within *** *****, CT Rude and blantantly devious Joyce van lines in ****** Connecticut could not have been worse. It was impossible to speak to anyone there and only after much time did we get a reply. After agreeing to the move and my wife signing an estimate, they charged my credit card for more than the original estimate. When we questioned this and other potential charges, they then cancelled our move one day before it was to take place. I personally spoke to Anne who informed me they no longer wanted to honor our agreement and had decided not to move us. That left us high and dry with very little options. We were able to find another mover at the last minute which ended up costing more due to the additional travel time. They informed us that cancelling a move is not uncommon for some moving companies as they often overbook. Avoid this company at all costs. The customer tasked a friend to handle the details of his move. A fair and accurate estimate was provided to the shipper. As the friend was unfamiliar with what exactly was to be moved, she had forgotten to mention additional services that will be needed. With the need to change the pricing on the estimate for service, she became stressed, confused and irrational. Our company tried to accommodate above and beyond the demands that were communicated daily by the shipper’s helper, but the demands became more difficult. When the customer became verbally abusive with the staff, we had no choice but protect our interests, cancel the move and have the customer find another service to help them move their household goods. All refunds were issued immediately. The customer has continuously called to threaten negatives posts such as this review that was left with BBB. It is unfortunate that the stress of moving catches people off from what their usual demeanor is. We wish him good luck so that he might find a calm happy place in his life.Review from Ana V.

I moved from ******* ** ******* last June. In May, I received a brochure from ******** Brothers moving and storage company; considering that this is a ******* local business, I decided to give them a trial. The sales agent came to my house and did the initial evaluation, he said that my furniture would be delivered between 5 to 7 days after the picked up time, in the estimate/order for service from 5/26/2021 it said; delivery between 6/15 and 6/21/2021. The fast delivery that they guaranteed and my wish to support local businesses during these difficult times, were the most important reasons for me to choose this company. I paid the grand total of $ 5402, 3 days prior to packing as requested by the company, the invoice was for Joyce Van Lines not for ******** ********. I had a mirror that needed to be crated and paid separately $144 for the crate. They arrived on 06/10/2021, the crate was too small for the mirror but anyway they asked me for the $144 check, I was told that they will fix the crate and put the mirror on it. At the time for packing an picking up they changed the delivery estimate time from 6/15 through 06/26, I explained to them that the sales agent guaranteed that the delivery would between 5 to 7 days after picked up, they told me "they will see what they could do about it". I contacted the sales agent multiple times to try to arrange the delivery on the initial time frame but time passed and they delivered on June 26, which caused me many inconveniences. On the delivery the crate was empty and the mirror was transported in an inappropriate way, not following any standards for packing (as per the report of the delivery people) and it was broken. I filled a claim with the claims business office and they only offered $44 dollars compensation (the mirror cost was $300). I contacted the moving company sales agent, he stated that "this is never the service or performance I present and I am deeply frustrated by this outcome", he is working on trying to refund the $144 for the crate that was not used and charged anyway. And indeed I am very frustrated because at the end I paid the grand total of $6641 for a service that was delayed, did not have the standards for packing, the client service was really bad, the company is not assuming responsibility for the broken mirror, I feel that they lied to me and were not able to keep which they have committed. As well ******** ******** should inform the clients since the beginning that they are just an intermediate sales company for Joyce Van Lines and at the end they will not be doing the delivery in cases of outstate moving services.
