          In September 2021, BBB contacted City Roofing & Siding regarding advertising claims on its website.

          Among those claims are several related to warranties and guarantees, including:
          "Specializing in professional roof installation in with quality materials fully guaranteed by each manufacturer, and backed by our 100% workmanship guarantee."
          "Our vinyl siding carries a transferrable 50-yr to lifetime warranty!"
          "We are proud of our high workmanship standards and fully stand behind all work (roofing, siding or windows) for a period of 10 years. With a CertainTeed 5-Star Certified Roof replacement system, we extend our guarantee to 25 years."
          "New and exclusive GAF shingle Elite Contractor in Southington, offering full lifetime warranty!"                   
          According to the BBB Code of Advertising, when using the terms “guarantee” or “warranty,” the advertiser must clearly and conspicuously include a statement that the complete details can be seen prior to sale. These details must disclose any material limitations on the guarantee or warranty. When advertising “lifetime” warranties or guarantees, the advertisement must clearly and conspicuously disclose its intended meaning of the term “lifetime.”  The business did not respond or add the details of its warranties or guarantees to its advertising.

          Its website includes the EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm logo and the statement "Proud Member of: Meriden Chamber of Commerce." 
          BBB has been unable to confirm that City Roofing & Siding is a currently certified renovation firm that meet EPA's standards or that it is a current member of the Meriden Chamber of Commerce.  The primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast. Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB.  BBB requested that the business provide written proof of its current NAT# with EPA and current Meriden Chamber membership or remove these claims until the affiliations have been restored, but did not receive a reply.
