I towed my car in for repairs on 2/3/2022. After looking at the car on 2/7/22 I was told it needed repairs made to the idle control valve and a new battery, which I authorized over the phone. On 2/9/22 I was contacted back and told the first repairs were completed and the car was ready to be taken home. I paid over the phone a total of $806.31. They then inform me over the phone that I need to do a front brake job, which they say they discovered after test driving the vehicle. I tried to decline this and they insisted that the brakes were very bad and should be done for safety reasons. I then authorized the work for an additional charge of $383.99. They called me back that same day an hour before close to let me know it was done. When I tried to pick up the car it wouldn’t drive. Couldn’t stay powered on, so I was skeptical that they were even able to test drive it earlier. They kept it for another day, then when I was told to come back to get it for the second time on 2/10/22 the car wouldn’t stay on and couldn’t be driven. I wanted a refund but they asked to make it right. The next day (2/11/22) they said it was done and I could take it home. The car made it 7 mins to my house, but died later that evening around 7pm and still won’t run. Left message for owner on 2/12/22, and then on 2/14/22 I spoke with the owner who refused to do anything for me because “it was running when I took it home”. He is now avoiding my calls and I am out of my money and my car is still not able to be driven. Please help me.
