On July 25, 2023, my husband and I hired Alan Soucy Home Improvement to install ceiling sheet rock over our plaster ceiling to include seaming, taping and painting, power wash the house and garage which is separate from the house, and repair popped nails in the roof. I gave him a check in the amount of $1,445. We were told the ceiling installation would be completed in a 5 day work span. On August 25, Alan Soucy wrote up a second contract to replace 2 boot stacks on the roof and to repair the left front center of my roof with new asphalt shingles as it is leaking. I gave him an additional check of $1,440. My husband of 50 years this past January suddenly passed away on August 5. I have been trying to cope with my loss and deal with Alan Soucy, the contractor my husband and I hired. He is not returning my phone calls and is not completing the work of power washing my house and leaky roof repairs. The ceiling board installation left damaged wood floors, hanging sheet rock and screws protruding. There is one man who works for Alan Soucy and he has been going out of his way to work on the ceiling on the weekends, mainly repairing the damage the 2 installers did. Attached is a detailed list of all the damage and the interaction and lack of communication. The list describes the poor workmanship, lack of respect for personal property, the damage that was done to my floors, rudeness from the General Manager in getting estimates to repair the scratched floors caused by his installers, promises of finishing the contracted and paid for work but not completing it, not returning my phone calls and much more. I hired Alan Soucy Home Improvement to replace the chimney flasher in my house as well as the adjacent wood sheath and roof shingles. The work was performed but shortly after I noticed water leaks. Each time it rains there is water infiltration that is damaging the living room ceiling. Upon further inspection, I realized that the wood sheath had not been replaced and the rafters in the attic space were also wet. I notified the contractor of the issue and he set up a day to perform the needed repairs. This date was rescheduled to Friday, July 16th but he failed to show up or call to cancel. I reached out a second time only to be given a new date of Monday, July 19th but once again it did not materialize. The communication has stopped and at this point I have no confidence that he is committed to finishing the job.Business response

I signed a contract with Alan Soucy at the end of 2020 and beginning months of 2021 for a job to be completed within a month or two. It has been 7 months and the job is still not completed. They keep saying they will send someone out but they never do. There are several items that still need to be completing including bathroom painting, interior doors, plumbing fixture incorrect, etc.Business response

"This was a Covid 19 restart we asked to go back and finish job. We tried to establish a date of restart and they wanted sooner than later...unfortunately we were engaged with other projects at the time and couldn't accommodate the restart date they wanted and client was irrate."
