    I'm scheduled for knee replacement surgery on 4/8/24. On Feb 6, I met with my doctor who recommended a ROMtech PC connect bike to help with my recovery. He submitted a request, & within a week someone from ROMtech called to let me know they'd received it and that their billing **** would contact my insurance *** for approval. Billing, would then contact me to arrange delivery. Approx a month later, I called ROMtech's customer service to let them know I hadn't heard from anyone. I was told not to worry, that billing would call when they had information from my insurance (a ******** health plan). Late on 3/25/24 (2 weeks pre surgery), I got a voicemail message from billing, letting me know that my insurance company wouldn't cover this item, but that I could pay out-of-pocket $20/day for a minimum of 1 week. The next morning (3/26) I called ROMtech (I believe I called more than once that day). I was told 6 weeks were recommended, but that most folks sign-up for 2 to 3 weeks and evaluate. I asked if it was covered under original ********, and emailed my information (Ref# R110003). I researched the ******** manual, which seemed to indicate this should be covered (as long as it was with 48 hours of surgery). On Thu 3/28, I called Humana to ask why they weren't covering this item. Much to my surprise, they'd never received a request from ROMtech. I was put on hold while they called ROMtech, and then informed they'd given ROMtech the information needed to submit the request and that ROMtech would be calling me. On 4/1 (1 week before surgery), I called ROMtech at 8AM, explained my case & asked to speak with a supervisor. I was told she'd call back same day. At 3 PM, I called again. Still no call back. I was surprised to find a similar complaint on the BBB website. I would like ROMtech to submit this request to my insurance company so I can get coverage within the 48 hour (post-surgery) window. Time is running out, and I'm beyond frustrated.

    This Portable Connect Bike has been a convenient solution for my rehabilitation. They made it easier by bringing the device to my house, did the necessary installations and they taught me how to use the device. The device is easy to use, and I can easily adjust the resistance levels to what I want. I have fully regained my mobility and I'm grateful.
