*********************** did an outstanding job in our fireplace insert installation! He paid attention to every detail and provided us with a custom back plate which looks absolutely beautiful! My wife and I just love our new Napoleon X4 fireplace insert! I also had this company do a chimney inspection, cleaning and parging along with a new exterior fireplace crown installed which look absolutely beautiful! I highly recommend Chimney Sweeps of America for any fireplace upgrades or repairs that *** be needed! We are extremely happy with the work they've done!

Chimney Sweeps of America came out and did a routine chimney cleaning and inspection. If that was all that was done, I would have given them 5 stars as their scheduling team was awesome and they came out as scheduled with no problems whatsoever. However, at the time of inspection I was told I would need to parge my chimney and install a new damper to bring my fireplace up to code. I scheduled this and had the work done. What I was NOT told was that this new damper would be an entirely different type of damper and they would need to "demo" my chimney to "create room." If I could attach pictures, you would see what is left is a large, unfinished, unprofessional looking hole where my old damper used to be, as well as additional space where a row of bricks was cut out haphazardly. This is not the end product I was expecting for almost $1600. When I contacted them, the owner apologized and offered to come out and paint everything black to try and make it look better. I am writing this review to forewarn anyone else who may be thinking of hiring this company for this service.

******* thank you for sharing your service call experience with us. We are sorry that the repair experience didn't meet your expectations. As we have written in the repair report, completing the smoke chamber repairs and installing the new proper working damper on the roof required us remove the old damper housing. In order to remove the damper housing the top row of brick on the back wall also has to be removed to provide us adequate access for the repairs to be completed. I know that seeing this hole when you are on the floor looking upwards in the fireplace is not pretty and we should have done a better job is explaining this outcome to you. We are sorry that we let you down but take comfort in the fact that your fireplace is now properly constructed, it is meeting codes and NFPA 211 standards, and is no longer the fire hazard it was before we made the repairs and that you and your family our safe. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention, we will do better in explaining these outcomes in the future because of this.
