On September 17th ****************************************************************** a bid for painting my vinyl sided townhouse. He made a point of telling me what a fine man he was, a Veteran and the son of an amazing single mom. He schmoozed me. Gained my trust and made a bid I couldn't refuse. Arrangements were made, he asked me for $200 up front to buy materials, scheduled the start date for the 20th of September and then did not show, did not call, nothing. I went to his house to see why he did not show and his mom said he could not leave the bathroom and would contact me as soon as he was free. That did not happen. ***** later I begged him to renew the start date for the project he agreed and then again, October 2nd, he did not show, he did not call, nothing. It has now been over ******************************************************************** the $200 back or to contact me in any way. I want the money back. I'm an elderly person, a disabled grandma, and I do not have $200 to throw away on thievery. Apparently he has done this many times before and he has a drug problem by his own admission.Initial Complaint

I initially paid $500 for $1000 dollars of work from Veterans Painting as ********************* the owner "donated" his services to a cancer victim (whom he also later ripped off.) He gave me an estimate and wanted $1000 deposit which I paid by check on September 12, 2021 and signed a contract for him to start on September 29, 2021. He called an postponed until September 30, 2021. Then called and postponed again until October 1st. On October 1st - No call, no show. After numerous attempts to reach him he finally called me back late that night and said he did not have his phone and made up another excuse. Told me he would be at my house to give me my money back on October 2nd. On that day he told me he was drunk and could not drive his car. He then told me he has a cocaine problem amongst other excuses. I have numerous times told him to give my money back and he has not 4 weeks later. He has other complaints via the BBB and has frankly stole my money....$1500 This guy deserves an F-
