I hired straight line to perform foundation repair at my residence in mid 2020. I paid $12,000 cash. They came and installed some piers to raise the foundation in the front of my home. The floor didnt raise like the foundation did and caused damage to my wood flooring and indoor brickwork. I had them come back out to take a look and they advised it was an issue with the crawl space. I explained I had never seen a crawl space or any access to it. They quoted me $1,500 to cut an exploratory hole in my flooring to find the crawl space. Luckily, they sent out the engineer (who had not been to the property prior to the work). He pulled a heater vent from my floor and told me I didnt have a crawl space, but that it was a concrete slab. Straight Line said they needed to drill holes into the floor and inject a poly substance to raise the flooring up to match the foundation. I agreed to pay an additional $1,500 for this. I had initially asked them to file a claim with their insurance carrier but they refused. After the poly injections were done, I noticed some additional parts of the flooring that were not corrected and again asked them to come out to fix it. They sent someone out again and indicated another piling needs to be installed. I again asked them to file a claim with their insurance carrier and they again refused. Had I received a correct quote the first time around, I might have continued with Straight Line, but depending on the cost, I might not have. I am frustrated since the engineer was not sent out initially and I feel like I am getting taken advantage of when they keep asking for more money.
