In November of 2021, I dropped off my boat to have gel coat work completed. I paid $3,005.67 for the gel coat and several other items. When I picked up the boat on 12/9/21, I noticed that the boat still had some small cracks on the starboard side. I went back into the shop and the receptionist said that ***** was at lunch and would have him call me. I send him pictures of the cracks and he explained that his guys must have missed that spot and that I should bring the boat back and he would get it fixed. After several calls and no return calls I started going by the shop about every 2 weeks. Each time they said they would have ***** call me- no call back. Last Friday 3/25/22, I went in and was able to speak with *****. ***** asked if someone had called me about the boat and I replied no. ***** said it would cost another $1300 to fix the cracks.I spoke with ***** today and asked why he said he would get the boat back in and fixed and now he is asking for another $1300? He said that I was difficult to get ahold of and that I should have walked that boat with his worker to see what was needed. He said if I was going to argue with him I can just come get the boat. I agreed.They had the boat for weeks before doing the gel coat work and would have been able to see what was needed before the estimate. Since my initial complaint of 12/9/21, they have had the boat for over 3 months. He initially stated that he would fix what was missed and now is asking for more money. I find this practice to be unprofessional and dishonest. I would like a partial refund so that I can take the boat elsewhere for the repair.The gel coat work $1,980. I would accept a $500 refund. I am also contesting the charge with my credit card.Business response

I am rejecting this response because: I did not contract with ****, I had a contract with Parker RV and Marine. Its ironic that ***** said that "his guys" missed the cracks on the side although the workorder does list the upper deck. He said he would take care of it then he tried to charge me. If he had told me about the charge for the side I would have taken it elsewhere to have a full off trailer gel coat repair for the same price.I uncovered the boat today and there are gel coat cracks on the top deck of the boat- multiple spots so not even the top deck work was done. Additionally, they used a black fabric under the straps used for the shrink wrap and there is now a prominent stain on the rear seat.
I am getting an estimate to have the work done and seat repaired. May just have to take him to court! At this point, is more a principal of not been cheating vs the money.
