Mr. Appliance came and repaired our dryer, putting in a new heating element. Upon starting the dryer again with the first load after the repair, the dryer began making loud banging noises as it rotated; these sounds had not occurred before. I called Mr. Appliance, and they told me that they would send out a tech to look at it, but they might charge me additional fees. I told them the noise was the result of the repair, and they began talking about how it's possible something else failed, and they couldn't guarantee they wouldn't charge me more. I feel trapped by this company. Their first repair didn't work (the heating element works, but the new noises are alarming), they are not taking responsibility for the repair issues, and they are talking about charging me more to come look at the issue they caused! I am having to buy a new dryer after having spent about $395 with Mr. Appliance for the repair.Business response

We were initially contacted to repair a dyer that was not heating. Out technician diagnosed the dryer as needing a new heating element on 9/9/2021. The needed part was shipped directly to the customer and our technician installed the part and tested the unit. It was found to be operating to original specs and heating well.
When the customer contacted us 5 days later to complain of a noise, we offered to return at no charge to evaluate the new problem. The customer was informed that should we find a different issue with the dryer not related to the initial repair of the heating issue, there could be additional charges. An appointment was set for 9/23/2021 to evaluate the source of the new problem. The customer then called on 9/22/2021 and cancelled the appointment. Thus we had no opportunity to evaluate the cause of the noise.
We are denying a refund on this issue since the amount paid was to repair the heating element on the dryer. The dryer was heating correctly after the repair, and the customer himself admitted to that on a recorded phone call to our offfice. We were never given the opportunity to evaluate the source of the noise.
