I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against 1 Up Arcade, located at **********************************, regarding an incident that occurred on April 5th, 2024. As a long-time resident of ************ and a frequent patron of 1 Up Arcade, I was shocked and dismayed by the discriminatory and unprofessional behavior displayed by the staff on that night.Upon entering the establishment around 1 am, my companion and I ordered two canned beers, a Guinness *****, and a Montucky Cold Snack, after being informed by the bartender, an older lady with black/brown hair, that each beer was $10. My companion paid $12 for his beer, while I paid $10 for mine, believing it to be the correct price.After waiting for approximately 20 minutes, Upon inquiring with another bartender, a gentleman with spikey blonde hair, I was informed that the true prices were $4 for a Montucky Cold Snack and $6 for a Guinness *****.Feeling deceived, my companion and I confronted the bartender, requesting a refund for the overcharged amount. However, instead of addressing the issue professionally, the bartender and a barback, described as a very skinny buzz cut individual, became hostile towards us. They accused us of lying and refused to refund the difference.After a brief argument, the bartender begrudgingly returned $10, claiming that was the total amount we had given her. Subsequently, the barback informed us that we were cut off and asked us to leave, despite having consumed only one beer each.The behavior of the staff at 1 Up Arcade was unacceptable and unprofessional. We were simply seeking redress for being overcharged and were met with hostility and discrimination. This experience has left me deeply disappointed and I believe that action must be taken to address this issue and prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. On February 9th 2022 at 6:00 PM I payed $9.50 for drinks and tipped $2.50 which comes to a total of $12.00. When I checked my statement the next day I somehow had a $9.50 and $12.00 charge. An entire $9.50 was added to my **** after I signed it somehow. The bartender working February 9th 2022 evening shift is a thief and I believe he changed my tip amount afterwards.
