Energy armor did an energy audit at my house, and promised a $200 rebate on my next XCEL energy bill They have not filed the paperwork for the audit, and do not return my phone calls, nor do they answer the phone at their office. I cannot contact them, we had an agreement, they broke it. I also asked for a quote, which was NEVER provided. Suffice it to say this may be a blessing in disguise, glad I never signed anything with this company. Can't answer the phone, can't do what they promised.

The customer obviously misunderstood so sorry for the misunderstanding but you only get rebates if you get the insulation done. As far as the quote goes Im very sorry you didnt receive your quote.

I am rejecting this response because I was told I would get a 200 dollar rebate from excel for the initial audit and inspection.   This has not happened

I have spoken with Xcel energy, and they have told me that yes there is a $200 energy rebate available for having an energy audit done. This is why I allowed energy armor to come to my house and inspect my property.

    Sincerely,

I had an insulation on October 4, 2024 and was told I would get a warranty on the installation. I was texted a form that is not legible and I made several phone calls where the voicemail box is full and have left several emails with no response. I am concerned that the work product is not warranty when I was told that it was.

The warranty paperwork has been delivered to the consumer.

Energy Armor won't respond to emails or calls. I need them to respond to an email from Xcel Energy to give them the info they require in order to process an insulation rebate of mine for $400.

This is regarding installation of home insulation and the lack of filing for energy rebate. I hired Energy Armor for installation of insulation (residential property) last year. The date of service was 11/18/22. They advertised themselves as a designated contractor for Xcel Energy rebates for insulation work- only some companies are "on the list" for this. This was a selling point that led me to choose Energy Armor for the job. They told me that I could file for the rebate myself, but it turns out (after a lot of back and forth with Xcel) that this is not true- it must be filed by the company. I have reached out to Energy Armor by phone and email several times to get this done and have received no response at all. The rebate must be filed within 1 year and there is only 1 month left. While I was otherwise happy with the work done, I feel it was dishonest to highlight this rebate as an incentive and not follow through on fulfilling it.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 10/19/2023

I spoke with someone from the company who explained why I was told I would be eligible for this rebate and why that didn't turn out to be the case.  Ultimately it was a miscommunication on the part of an employee. Alternate compensation was offered in place of the rebate. I therefore would like to retract the complaint.

I've been experiencing noise issues in my new condo and had a few quotes for insulation. ***** showed up and gave an offer I couldn't really beat to insulate my entire condo, exterior walls and ceiling. The first crew that showed left a sour impression and quit on the job. They told me I was getting ripped off. ***** assured me a new crew would be sent to finish the job and for the experience they would cover for the hole repairs needed after. **** and ****** showed up a few days later to save the experience and left me feeling better. Granted every hole that was cut was thrown away. A new contractor was sent out to repair the holes, had no idea the scope of work. ********* had to cut out 72 holes by hand to fill the drilled areas. Granted Energy Armor took care of this cost for such a poor experience, it still was a nightmare. I was promised a rebate and tax credit, which was a lie. THEY AREN'T ON XCEL REBATE CONTRACTOR LIST. I was lied to my face about the rebates, tax incentives and feel stupid, ripped off and foolish for not researching first. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. **** and ********* were the best thing about this project. Many other customers are stating there are lies with their sales. This is terrible business practice. They even promised gift cards for reviews and don't fulfill that either.

    Business Response

    Date: 03/13/2023

I have attached the emailed responses to ****** regarding the complaint. We have come to a resolution and she has stated she will revise/remove the complaint. I am attaching my original response as we as her email stating she will be rewriting the reviews. Please let me know if you need any more information.

    Customer Answer

I had energy armor do my insulation project January 2023, they promised I'd recurrence a $1500 rebate from **** and they weren't even on Xcel's rebate contractor approved list. Energy armor did not explain this to me until I found out myself. I filed a BBB complaint regarding this misinformation and then ****** from energy armor reached out, apologized and sent a gift card as an apology. Energy armor is now on the approved contractor list with Xcel and energy armor is the only one who can file the rebate application to Xcel. I have been calling and emailing since April 2023 to have energy armor send in the application, multiple calls and emails left unresponded to. I want my rebate application submitted and would like a partial refund on my project as the saga continues of poor customer service, no communication and stress this whole experience has caused my life.

    Business Response

    Date: 07/13/2023

****** - I believe there was a misunderstanding regarding these rebates. There is no $1,500.00 rebate from Xcel. I believe you mixed up the Xcel rebate with the $1,200 tax credit available, which are two different things. We did have an issue where we thought we were on Xcels list for the $400 rebate, but submitted our paperwork incorrectly. For those customers in between fixing this issue, we offered $400 off instantly.

To make up for any confusion this caused, we also issued you a gift card.

We are unable to issue a refund based on the fact that we completed the work the way we said we would and per our contract.  We believe we went above and beyond by issuing you the gift card for any confusion that *** have been caused. We would like the complaint removed as we did everything listed in your contract and gave you a gift card to make up for any miscommunication regarding the rebates/tax credits.

I am rejecting this response because: the $400 gift card was an apology. I was advised you would submit the rebate application once you're on Xcel's list which you are now. No one has returned my voicemails or emails stating they would submit the rebate to the utility company. ****** your office manager stated the $400 gift card was an apology, not to clear out the fact you still needed to apply for the rebate on my behalf. Xcel started the contractor is to submit the rebate application in which your company has still not done.

They have not applied for my rebate with the utility company this is not resolved.

Please see attached email thread where they state they'll apply for the rebate with Xcel Energy, this has not been done as promised but the company. This is not resolved.

    Complaint: 18956608

I am rejecting this response because: the $400 gift card was an apology and per the email the company would still file the rebate application with Xcel, they are now on Xcel's list. This is not resolved and the company is not fulfilling their promise per their email previously attached. They stated the $400 does not mean they won't apply for the rebate. This is unacceptable. All I ask is for them to apply for my rebate as promised.

    Sincerely,
