We paid Remington to build a custom concrete table for us. Paid him a deposit per the agreement, the remaining balance due upon delivery. 5 days later, he is requesting more money to 'pay the *********.' I told him id like to stick to the agreement and that the remaining balance is due upon delivery. He keeps asking for more money. when i refused, he said that our project is now delayed. The due date on the project has come and gone and we have not heard from Remington. He is ****

I am giving Remington a negative number review. I must have been an "easy ***** from the start. My entryway stairs project was supposed to be finished a year ago. He was very excited to do this job. He did replace the rotted wood but did not get the stairs height to code like he said he had. He also got cement on the wood so it will be an eyesore. His work ethic was awful. I brought this to his attention more than once and he response was that he was insulted or didn't know what I was talking about, "I wasn't his boss" and I was "micromanaging him and he didn't work that way". He had the excuses of COVID, his truck breaking down, moving and the weather. Weather can be a legitimate excuse, but he missed 2 months of good weather last fall, putting other jobs ahead of mine, I guess. He didn't show up when he said he would or it would be in the afternoon. He was pouring cement in the cold and putting heated blankets and a propane heater on them. The result is crumbling cement. I texted him pictures and got no response. I know he came by once to look at it, without involving me. He also got cement on the new pavers. He never got around to installing the handrail, his "favorite" thing to do. He also left debris that I don't think I can put in my trash bin. He has quit answering my texts and I have to assume he's not finishing the job. I am getting other bids now and they have all told me what a extremely poor job he did, and not up to code like he said it was, as previously mentioned. I paid him a substantial amount of money every time he said he needed it for materials, that he should have purchased in the beginning. I am completely disgusted with him.

We paid Remington B***** a deposit to install an epoxy coating on our basement concrete. He then refused to actually do the work with a variety of excuses from COVID (second time according to his complaints in two months), his car broke down, he lives on a dirt road and it was too muddy, his sister couldn't give him a ride, etc. etc. etc. Finally, we had to hire someone else because we had other contractors waiting on him. We offered him a variety of other jobs on our project to earn the $500, he agreed but again never showed. Finally, we asked for our money back. He claimed on ********* that he would refund us, but he never actually did. Just lied to *********, lied to us, and kept our $500. Finally, I've been forced to take him to small claims court to get our money back

Ignore reviews on other sites. The history of complaints on the BBB site show the same pattern. Remington was friendly and responsive at first, but then he got the deposit. After that, it was weeks of excuses and extremely poor communication. He was sick, he was coming to do the work, sick again, coming to do the work, multiple days with no updates. I finally asked for him to refund my deposit. He made more excuses, but said he would do the job over the weekend or give me a full refund. I give him one last chance and he never shows up. Now after several days of texting, calling, voicemails, still nothing. The app I found him on shows that he read my messages there too. I told him that I had to assume at that point he didn't intend to give me my money back. He still didn't respond.

Architectural Outfitters did an outstanding job on my 1,500” patio by grinding off all surfaces and resealing making the patio look new again for a very reasonable price. Remington, the owner, is the most honest person I have ever met by putting customers’ needs first vs. making a quick buck. Other contractors wanted to remove existing and pour a new one for $18K, paver overlay for $25K, sand blasting for $15K, and painting for $20K when all I needed was what Remington did. I would recommend Architectural Outfitters for an honest assessment of work that needs to be done. Steve D
