On July 29, 2024, I purchased a 2016 RAM 1500 Sport from Mile High Auto Sales in ******, ** for $22,000 with $2,000 down. During the sale, I was informed the vehicle had previously been declared a total loss. The dealership showed me the ****** report and assured me the vehicle had a CLEAN Michigan title and was not branded as salvage. They explained that because the title was clean, the vehicle could be financed since banks typically will not finance salvage vehicles. I now understand that although the vehicle met the criteria for a salvage designation due to its collision total loss history, it did not receive a salvage title due to a technicality in ********* title laws. This technicality was used to present the vehicle as having greater value and safety than it reasonably should have. And mile high used it to secure financing from the bank under terms that would not have been approved had the vehicle been accurately represented.About three months later, I attempted to trade in the vehicle and received an appraisal of only $7,000, a substantial loss. I now have significant negative equity on a vehicle that I would not have purchased had the full implications of its title and history been explained.Had I known that even with a clean title and a total loss history this vehicle shouldve not been worth as much as what I paid for. When I raised these concerns with the dealership, their only proposed solution was to take the vehicle back and sell it. They did not offer any compensation or assistance for the financial loss I had. I did not feel comfortable returning the vehicle to the same party who misrepresented its value to me. Im not sure if this vehicle was repaired correctly since it did not have a rebuilt title, did have to go through an inspection process before driving on the road. the damages were over 70% of the vehicles market value so Im not sure if this vehicle is safe to drive. No documents were provided to me regarding professional repairs.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, ***** CAME IN JULY 2024 FEW DAYS BEFORE HE BOUGHT IT AND ASKED US TO SERVICE IT BEFORE BUYING IT. I SENT IT TO BIG O TIRES AND GOT A SERVICE DONE ON IT. CUSTOMER BOUGHT THE CAR ON THE 29TH. HE GOT HIS OWN LOAN WITH THE CREDIT UNION.  CUSTOMER TEST DROVE THE CAR AGAIN AND REVIEWED THE CARFAX REPORT ALONG THE AUCTION PHOTOS PRIOR TO BEING REPAIRED.  CUSTOMER IS AWARE OF THE TOTAL LOSS AND SIGNED ALL THE CARFAX AND DAMAGE AND RECALL disclosure FORMS.  THE CAR WAS BOUGHT FROM INSURANCE AUTO AUCTION IN *******. THE CAR WAS DAMAGED AND ALL THE PARTS WERE INCLUDED BRAND NEW BY THE BODYSHOP PRIOR.   WE SENT IT TO THE BODYSHOP AND GOT IT ALL REPAIRED.  THE CARFAX WAS SHOWING TOTAL LOSS, THATS AN INSURANCE TERM.
THE CREDIT UNION WILL NOT GIVE A LOAN ON BRANDED ***** CAR SO.
Total **************************** or fleet company declares a vehicle a total loss when a claim exceeds approximately 75% of its pre-damage value or if the vehicle is stolen and not recovered. This damage threshold varies by company. These companies typically take possession and obtain the title. Not all total loss vehicles result in a ***-reported branded title. This may occur when an insurance company's definition of a total loss is different than the state ***'s definition for a branded title or when the owner of the vehicle is a self-insured company, like a fleet or rental company.
THE CAR CAME IN WITH A CLEAN MICHIGAN ***** AND I TOOK IT TO THE *** TO  SWITCH TO A COLORADO ***** AND THE STATE *** ISSUED A CLEAN COLORADO *****.
THERE WAS NO SALVAGE OR ANY BRAND THAT SHOWS IN THE CARFAX OR AUTOCHECK IN THE TIME WE GOT IT.
WE OFFERED THE CUSTOMER TO TRADE IT IN TO ** AND WE DIDNT GET AN ANSWER.

CUSTOMER SIGNED EVERY SIGNLE PICTURE OF THE DAMAGE AND AUCTION PICTURES, DAMAGE AND RECALL DISCOURE FORM,  CUSTOMER IS AWARE OF THE ***** BEING CLEAN BUT  CARFAX SHOWS AN ACCIDENT AND AWARE OF THE TOTAL LOSS,  CUSTOMER IS NO LONGER WANTS THE CAR AND WAN'TS AN EASY WAYOUT AND TRYING TO RETURN THE CAR JUST BECAUSE HE BOUGHT ANOTHER TRUCK FOR HIS TOW ABILITY OR WHATEVER THE **** IS.

PLESAE CUSTOMERS DON'T GET BRAIN WASHED BY OTHER DEALERS WHOS TRYING TO LOW BALL YOU TO GET THE CAR OR A TRCUK FROM YOU FOR A CHEAPER WAY,  BECAREFUL. ALWAYS SHOP AROUND AND OR SELL YOUR OWN CAR AT ******** OR ANY ONLINE PLATFORM TO GAIN MORE MONEY GOOD LUCK.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 06/10/2025

    To Whom It May Concern,
Yes, I was told that the vehicle had a prior total loss and signed disclosures, but the real issue here is how that information was presented and what was deliberately left out. The dealer made the clean title a central selling point and used it to justify the vehicles value and to secure traditional financing, as if the car had no serious damage history. My bank will not finance salvage vehicles so this dealer use a clean title as a loophole as a way around it, to secure a traditional financing. Because on paper, the bank only saw the clean title and assumed that this was appropriate loan that reflected the vehicle true value.
What was never explained is that the vehicle qualified for a salvage title under normal conditions. However, because the car was more than 6 years old, it fell under Michigans age-based exemption, which allows total loss vehicles over that age to be issued clean titles. The only reason the title remained clean was because of this legal loophole, which the dealer knowingly used to make the car appear more valuable than it was. The estimated repair cost was approximately *****% of the vehicles retail value. This is well above the typical total loss threshold, which in most states is around 7080%. So in most case scenarios is this vehicle shouldve been issued a salvage title, but it was not due to this loophole.
Of course the dealer didnt disclose that the car was worth significantly less than what I was paying, because I wouldnt have bought it if I had known. Instead, I was reassured that a clean title meant full value and that the car qualified for bank financing, while the damage history was downplayed.
Now Im left with a vehicle I cant trade in without taking a major financial loss and I am stuck with negative equity. This is not about buyers remorse, its about a deal that was misleading and financially damaging. Had the full implications of the title and loss history been properly explained, I would have walked away.
The dealers response also included inappropriate comments suggesting that other dealerships were trying to brainwash me. That is extremely unprofessional, especially coming from someone who also owns a dealership. I chose not to bring the vehicle back to him because I no longer trust him. That trust was broken during the sale, and it makes no sense to return it to the source of the issue for help.
Even if I had brought the vehicle back, it wouldnt have solved the problem. The negative equity, loan interest, and financial damage I suffered from this inflated sale price would still be mine to carry, and the dealer would have profited again from reselling it.

1.10.25 I purchased a vehicle from Mile High Auto Sales from owner ***** *****. I was rushed through the paper work process and was not made aware of the rebuilt title until doing the paperwork after the loan had been approved. I was told it was all fixed and was only quickly shown the carfax. Never once was I walked thru the vehicle or made aware of any of the rebuilt repairs. I had to point out the missing fuse box cover under the hood, a locked hitch which they had no key and lights on the bumper that didn't work. While they agreed to fix the items I would have to make the return 111 mile trip back the following week. Approx 5 miles away when leaving with the truck the following day 1.11.25 the check engine light came on and I made the dealer aware, said they would check the next week. The tonneau cover that came the truck was not secured properly as stated by ********, "I thought I had that on there pretty good", and came off on the drive back on 1.17.25, I made them aware, said you can't take what people say they just say things and wouldn't cover or assist with a replacement, told me they're cheap on ******. Driving back up the following week. 1.17.25, there was no acceleration on any hills and I made the dealer aware once I got there. There was a broken hose, they said warranty wouldn't cover nor would they and I had to pay $217 for the repair made the following week so another 111 mile trip back. They duct tape the hose until the repair. On 1.29.25 I made ***** aware an oil leak, I had it checked, took it to a reputable auto shop, let him know the cost and that warranty again wouldn't cover it. Upon having the $1200 repair done that I paid for out of pocket, the shop noticed multiple damage areas that weren't repaired correctly and had been covered to hide them and they stated it was unsafe to drive. Contacted *****, spoke briefly said he could buy back the vehicle, got a text stating "Whats your email so I can send you what you signed". No other contact.

I am rejecting this response because:

The dealer is incorrect in saying that I drove the vehicle and would've know that had they left their desk. Additionally, had they left their desk maybe they would have disclosed and walked through the vehicle with me, which at no point did they. The Rebuilt title is not the issue, the complete lack of transparent damage disclosure is the issue. I do not feel the dealer did their duty to disclose or provide a completely safe operational vehicle.

Bought a car from the dealership. Was told the only thing wrong was the hail damage. Which I didnt mind. I have had the car since 9/29/24 and since have not been able to drive it. It was sold to me with three tires having nails in them and wouldnt hold air. Got that fixed just for the check engine light to come on and cost me $3000 to fix that issue. Found out the dealership out the wrong oil in the car. They claimed they didnt do the oil but the last oil change on record was in 2023. And the shop confirmed it has been changed real recent. And changed to the wrong kind of oil. That caused issues and another $300 in repairs. It still has an issue with acceleration and idling and have to send it back to the shop yet again. Reached out to the owner ***** and informed him of the issues when I asked about the oil he was truthful about. He then told me it was my fault the car is having issues when I havent even gotten to drive it more than 300 miles. And 100 was the shop. Very rude and unprofessional. Claims they would have helped if I told them. I did tell them in message and proved that to him. He then turned it around and said I should have called so there wouldnt be proof I said anything. Got mad when I wrote an honest ****** review for future shoppers to know the risks of buying from them. He then messaged me being condescending and rude.

Purchased a *** from this dealer for what I thought was a fair price. I was told that there was some light damage done to the front end in an accident but it had been repaired. Unfortunately, the whole front end of the vehicle literally started to fall off about a month after I purchased it. There was no warranty on the vehicle, so I went ahead and reinstalled the part (a proximity sensor). Soon, the other sensor fell off, both flood lights fell off, the front facia started separating from the fenders, the engine splash guard fell off, and more. Upon further inspection, I realized that the majority of the mechanical fasteners were never installed. I attempted to contact the dealer twice but nobody ever called me back.

******, as discussed in the email. The body shop shop will take care of all the bolts and clips that are missing at no cost to you and will put the bumper back together.

one thing I didnt get from you is that why is the other body shop putting new bumper?  Was this car involved in a front end or hit a curb or something?   I didnt get no photos from the front end nor the bottom?

bumper dont come off from the fender that easy? ( My body shop is asking ?)

again. They are willing to cover it at no cost. Bring it by and will take care of it.

I had purchased a 2012 ****** Outback on 3/13/24. I had test drove the car and looked through everything. It looked great and was told this car had zero problems. 20 minutes after driving off the lot the car had overheated as well as multiple engine lights came on (was told I did something to the car). When ***** came to look what was wrong he admitted to CLEARING CODES on the cars and left me with an additional $350 charge to fix the temperature sensor at his mechanic. His mechanic hesitantly told me the whole head gasket needs replaced. ******************* they had no idea this was a problem even though they inspected the car to put a price tag on it. I was yelled at over the phone about how cause its an "as is" car they don't have to disclose issues (which is illegal) and how clearing codes is not illegal so why would it matter. They told me its my fault and should of gotten the warranty, probably because they knew this would happen even though I was never offered it until after the sale was complete. They have refused to help other than offering their mechanic so I can cover the bill yet again. I don't know how somehow its my fault that I was not disclosed this information with the car, if I was I would not have bought it. There has been no accountability for selling unsafe cars as well as multiple admittance of their shady business tactics. Be very cautious when purchasing from here as they are looking for a sell at any expense of the buyer.

Luck sorry to hear you had a bad experience. As you know used cars are sold as is with No dealer warranty.

Also the car was driven and tested before was listed for sale.

?? Also you drove the car and took it for a test drive prior buying it.  So if there is an issue with the car, you wouldnt have purchased the vehicle.  ??

Also the car was taken to emassion the same day and it didnt over heat or have any issues.   Not sure what you did to the car to have all these issues after all.

Also we didnt clear no codes sir.

And once again if you need help fixing the car  We can help you find the parts and get you with my mechanic at a great price.

    Thank you.

    Best regard.

I am rejecting this response because the car was lied about when it was sold. ***** ADMITTED to clearing codes in the car and told me how I could do it myself. The car was presented nicely to sell but not to last (more than 20 minutes). When I mentioned returning the car, 30 minutes after purchase, I was immediately shut down. A few days later after I'm stuck with $350 repair fees and find out the car has much more problems, I get yelled at on the phone and told after driving a whole 15 miles that I did something to the car. These guys don't know anything about cars and can sell what ever they can bring in safe or not.

I purchased a 2012 *** with ***** Miles on September 23 2023 from this dealer when inspecting this vehicle I noticed a lot of oil on the engine and when I asked the sales men said they hired someone new to tend to the maintenance n cleaning if vehicles n that he most likely spilled oil while topping it off n that he didn't let him clean it due to the fact that the guy ruined several other cars by soaking the engines. Then when test driving a light came on and when I asked he told me it was just a sensor for ************** wasn't expensive to fix. So I told him I didn't feel comfortable with the issues and I was declining the sale he then stated that he would add another year to the warranty so instead of 1 year I got 2 he said if anything happens then I would be covered. On October 9th the car broke down and didn't have no even 1000 miles on it from the time of purchase so I informed the salesman I dealt with told him what the mechanic said was wrong with it he told me not to inform the warranty company that a mechanic had already diagnosed the issue *** to lie on the miles. So they can cover the sensors for the turbo n the cracked valve cover that went all the way to the engine. I asked if this mechanic would be fine to use since I live 4 hours away from where I purchased it he said it would be fine. Claim filed n denied because of a clause the dealership or financial institution put in saying if the car broke before 23 days or 1000 miles it wouldn't be covered. So I reached out again spoke to the salesman at least 5 times he claims he spoke to them n ask why they've covered the same thing with other customers but not me then he went dark stopped answering calls then when I finally got ahold of him from another phone he claimed we spoke twice n I must have been talking to his brother then said he's speak with the dealership to see what they could do then stopped answering again then told me to cancel warranty and that money should cover repairs nope they kept it

On 12/22/23 my ******* were met by owner *********************. I have a hearing disability that this man was made aware of. He verbally told me there was a Free 3 month Power Train warranty He verbally told me to hand him $6688.00 My paperwork from this same man does not match what he told me. He charged me for a 3 month power train. And my receipt doesnt add up to $6688. It adds up to $5797.50.I confronted the owner. He has accused me of being high, used my disability against me, then told me they are human and everyone makes mistakes. He wants me to give him the paper work I have that I now know was entirely incorrectly filled out directly by the owner himself and resign the correct paperwork. He says the wrong #s were put down cause it was a hectic day. Said it happens all the time and I should be understanding. I believe the owner of all people should be responsible for their work. The dealer verbally said one thing at one point in the sale and then verbally said something else, then verbally and in writing backed up something else. Writing takes precedent. I am rejecting this response because: Im unsure where the disconnect is here. I understand youre trying to send me New paperwork to sign. New paperwork to replace the paperwork you claim to have improperly completed on your end, paperwork that you already went over with me in person when I bought the car, when I agreed to the terms I read in writing as you described them to me. Im sorry you filled things out incorrectly, but that is the paperwork we signed together, the paperwork that was agreed on. You verbally told me a different number when asking for payment, you told me a different number than what is on the signed paperwork and I contacted you about it the same day.  You declined to discuss it with me. You challenged me to find the problem . I did so and at that point suddenly you saw a problem and at that point you decided that new paperwork needed to be signed. Im not signing new paperwork. You have put in writing what I paid you and I have in writing what you put as the cost of the car in more than one place . In NO place does the price reflect a $7000 price tag. Nowhere at all.
So again, I am requesting the over paid funds be returned.

    Sincerely,

Hello. You requested the paperwork to be sent to you.  I fixed it on Saturday and sent it via electronically.

now you are refusing to sign them which is totally fine.

No refunds will be issued as you signed all the documents and you agreed on the price that was on the paperwork.

the price of the car and the taxes are correct. I didnt over charge you or anything.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out, thank you

I am rejecting this response because: I never requested paperwork. What I requested was to told why I was asked to pay more than what was listed on the paperwork I did sign. I requested clarification.  I have been steadfast from the beginning that I will not sign new paperwork. You made a mistake, that is not my problem. You verbally said 2 different things, and then printed a 3rd. I called for clarification. And you got upset with me regarding your mistake. Hence the BBB complaint.

    Sincerely,

***** upped the price on a used vehicle once he learned i was interested. He assured me that the vehicle was safe. The vehicle has required over $2,000 of work in the first week and counting. The vehicle was sold without a working horn, barely functional brakes, and an issue with the airbag system. ***** simply had his mechanic turn the sensor warnings off then assured me issues were "fixed". Judging by similar accounts, this business is a scam. I hope they are fined for their blatant dishonesty.

Date of the transaction: 1/17/2023 Nature of the dispute: On 1/17/2023 following the Lemon Law Where it states that if my car was worked on more than a certain amount of times and the issues was not resolved I maybe entitled to a Settlement/ or New Vehicle. My car Has worked on more than the amount of time stated in the Lemon Law and I am requesting that I am requesting that I am Reimbursed the $850 for the down pay I paid this company; Also I am requesting that I receive a Settlement for the amount of the 2015 328 D 3 series. Here are my Reasons why. The Keyless entry that was advertised never worked from the first day I came to see the car in person; This was 4 visits in itself to try and get fixed which it never was. Instead I was lied to and told that someone else can fix it and to also deliver these parts to him and tell him my issue; as I did I was told for the 2nd time that it can not be fixed and that a whole new door needed to be ordered. After wasting Half a day driving around being told different addresses. I gave up. When I returned for the 3rd I expressed that I felt taken advantaged of and that the keyless entry nor the heated seats worked in the Middle of winter when we were in Negative degree weather. Also noticing that the right side turning signal was fading (*****) one of the owners became very irate and began yelling very loud at me; which terrified me; He is a much larger man and when he was cursing at me; I became very scared for my immediate safety. It was at that time when I needed my heated seats to be fixed because of the weather; he went out him self to try and fix it; only to wait for another few hours and nothing to be fixed; AND he scratched the inside of my car window with a knife and replaced my brake pad with barley passable break pads!Account/Application number of ************** #******** Account Number- ****************** ********

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, CUSTOMER HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE DRIVER HEATED SEAT, WE ASKED THE CUSTOMER TO COME IN AND WE HAD REPLACED ONE OF THE MODULE AND IT DIDN'T WORK, CUSTOMER CAME AGAIN AND WE CHANGED THE **** AND IT ALL WORKED OUT, CUSTOMER LATER, BROUGHT IT AGAIN FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND ALSO THE DOOR ENTRY, WE ORDERED THE SEAT FOR HIM AND HE NEVER CAME FOR IT, FOR THE DOOR AND THE OPTION ISSUE THAT'S NOT OUR ISSUE AT ALL AS WE PUT THE *** ON ALL OUR WEBSITES AND ALL OPTIONS ARE DECODED  VIA ***.  WE DON'T LIST ANY OPTIONS ITS ALL BASED ON THE  ***. ALSO AND MOST IMPORTANTLY CUSTOMER HAD HIS GUN ON HIM AND LEFT FEW BULLETS ON THE DRIVER SEATS,   WE DON'T ACCEPT ANY THREATS IN MY DEALERSHIP AT ALL,   CUSTOMERS REQUEST ARE DENIED.  ALSO JUST TO LET YOU GUYS KNOW THAT THE **** ARE SOLD AS IS AND THE ***** AWARE OF THAT AND SIGNED THE PAPERWORK FOR IT. LET ** KNOW IF YOU GUYS WANT ANY PAPERWORK REGARDING THE CAR.

I am rejecting this response because: This business has not solved any issues with the. 1) MY CAR window on the driver side was scratched with a knife by the owner 2) I was falsely lied to by the business. And their bait and switch in their advertisement to about the specifics of the car never worked

    3) THE ***** of the business got very aggressive; and YELLED in my face when I brought up the fact that the heated seats/keyless entry/ and what was once good brake pads that was switched out for a lower quality because I was seen as a NUISANCE

     4) The business owner purposely would not fix my car until he had his FULL deposit for the down payment and once he received it, THE ***** NOR THE BUSINESS never contacted me AGAIN to solve and of the numerous issues to a bait and switch car that he advertised

    5) once I finally had the courage to contact BBB and make a formal complaint! AND SPECIFICALLY STATED TO NOT HAVE THE BUSINESS CONTACT ME; THEY STILL DID, SENDING THREATENING MESSAGES AND THEN DELETING THEM; I WILL NOT RESPOND WITH SCARE TACTICS

    6) In response to the bullet on my seat I graduated from Military ************************** and CELEBRATED and WELCOMED HOME a FREIND of mine who now is a Veteran! I DO NOT OWN A GUN/ NOR DO I HAVE MY CONCEALED CARRY LICENSE!! I WILL NOT TOLERATE SLANDER; SAYING I THREATENED SOMEONE WITH A GUN WHEN I NEVER HAD ONE NOR OWN ONE.. AND SAYING I DID SUCH THINGS IS A FELONY, THERE ARE CAMERAS IN THE BUSINESS AND IF A THREAT WAS MADE WITH A DELADY WEAPON; IM POSITIVE THE ***** WOULD HAVE CALLED THE POLICE!!

Above all else This Business is in the WRONG making accusations which are not true.
Contacting me after I said not to.. using scare tactics is WRONG

Never solving ANY of the issues; and advertising a car as BAIT AND SWITCH is Wrong

Taking physical harm to a car I PURCHASED is WRONG

using me as a errand runner; and lying about when and how the car would be fixed is WRONG

Using Verbal Profanity and Using his weight and size to scare me while YELLING at the top of his lungs is WRONG

Switching out my break pads for a lesser quality!! Is WRONG

    Sincerely,

I bought a vehicle from this company it turned out to have very serious issues. I purchased a warranty through them as well for the vehicle tried to get it serviced come to find out the warranty they offered was a scam and it was just one of their employees phone numbers they gave out. The vehicles transmission was binding so bad it was going to go at any moment. This company tried to blame me saying oh it passed emissions (emissions has nothing to do with transmissions) so they told me theyd exchange the vehicle for something else. I bring it in and get a mini ****** in way worse condition. The doors didnt shut the hood and trunk didnt either. Was promised the parts would be in and theyd fix it. The car overheated on my way home. The heat and nothing electrical worked including wipers etc making this ultimately a death trap on wheels. They wouldnt offer me any repairs at this point again told me it was all my fault. I then contacted a lawyer about all this and getting advice and he tried to help me but could only do so much since he was a car accident lawyer. The company then paid me 500$ to shut my mouth take my reviews off ******** and ****** and my families reviews as well. I want my money back I spent close to 7,000$ on this original car and warranty for them to know it has a broken transmission to turn around and sell it the next day for 5,000$. They have cameras and took my paper work my lawyer had asked for camera footage of all this and thats when they paid me to keep quiet. This is to this day still affecting me and my life without a vehicle or funds.

I am rejecting this response because:
I am not responding to your phone calls or text messages. My lawyer advised me not too. I bought the infinit m35x with a bad transmission that you blamed on me because it passed emissions. I have three different mechanics reports that emissions has nothing to do with that. As well as the transmission being broken king before purchase. I have documents on your faulty warranty. I have documents on the mini ****** you gave me in exchange as well as you sending me 500$ to take my reviews down and not speak out against what you guys did to me. I want 5,000$ back or Im going to continue to show that you illegally bribed me and more. Itll go everywhere and to the news. I will not stop showing what you guys did to me. You took all my money. Took the car and then sold it for an additional 5000$ without telling the person about the transmission (All documented) documented from several mechanics about the transmission. Then gave me a mini ****** that again didnt have working doors didnt have working wipers or any electrical stuff working. I have this all documented and have hired a lawyer for this. Heres the receipt of your illegal bribe.
    Sincerely,
