Alert
BBB is alerting consumers to exercise caution when doing
business with IT Tech Global Services or the website ittechglobalservices.com. At
least two consumers have alleged that the business operates as an apparent tech
support scam.
One complainant alleges that her father lost money to this
company when it sent a message informing him the machine was going to “blow up”—an
issue the business then “fixed” in exchange for payment. That complainant claims
the company later accessed her father’s computer remotely for roughly seven
hours and collected all of his passwords. Another complainant alleges that when
she sought a refund from IT Tech Global Services, a representative attempted an
overpayment scheme through which she was asked to send hundreds of dollars via
prepaid gift cards. Both consumers associate the alleged scam with the phone number
(833) 402-1444. That is the same phone number that IT Tech Global Services
advertises as its own, on a website that company employees identified as belonging
to the business.
Both IT Tech Global Service’s owner and another company
representative denied engaging in fraudulent practices, but so far, the
business has not substantiated this claim. The business has yet to provide BBB with
information about a single client or any evidence that it actually performs the
web design services it advertises online, despite indicating to BBB that it would
do so and receiving repeated reminders. The business has also thus far declined
to provide information about where it is truly headquartered or whether it is
related to a different business entity that is registered to the same owner and
address.
BBB believes that a component of IT Tech Global Services is
run from India, however, the business is owed by a Denver resident and registered
with the Colorado Secretary of State’s office to that person’s Denver apartment.
BBB warns consumers who experience computer popups not to
call the phone number listed on the popup itself, but to instead contact a
computer professional independently. For
