On May 17, 2022 I checked into this hotel for three nights. I walked up to the room and found it, not only un-secure (the door was loose in the frame & no number signifying the room #, but it smelled dirty and a immediately could not breathe. The room actually looked dirty with stains on the floors and the furniture. I immediately needed to leave. I could not stay in this hotel. I walked straight downstairs and told the counter clerk that I could not breathe in the room and I could not stay there. He told me I would be charged for at least one night if I cancelled my reservation, that I had made 5 minutes earlier. I told him the room was dirty, unsafe and I could not breathe and he offered to move me to another room. I walked to a second room, which was not a lot better and decided I would just reach out to the corporate office. I went out to my vehicle and called from there since I could not stand being in the building. After being on the phone with them for over an hour a rep put me on hold and then the line disconnected. I called back and a second rep told me that he would call me back after being on the phone for another hour. I never heard back. At that time I got a message from my bank that large transactions had taken place and when I checked I had one $200 charge and a second $400 from Quality Inn. I went back inside and there was now a woman at the front desk. I told her I needed to check out and get out of that hotel before they charged me for something else. She said she couldn't check me out because I had just checked in. I made her write me up a receipt confirming that I had checked out on the same day I had checked in. After about 4 days the extra charges were removed from my account but I had to play **** with my bank in order to make further transactions. I could not report the charges without cancelling my debit card and since I was out of state I did not have that option. As of right now I still have been charged $140.
