Eco Foam Insulutions was contracted to provide closed cell foam to our barn for insulation. We hired them because the sales person and the pictures of their previous work looked like what we wanted. The workmanship was poor, it is sloppy and ugly. Also in parts they used a different foam, one that is not what was agreed upon. They charged for 2660 square feet, which is 335 sq ft above the size of the area. They put 230 ft of open cell (which is much cheaper, and does not have the R factor of closed cell.) and charged for closed cell. We appealed to the company and they agreed to deduct the overcharge from bill plus $500 which is not acceptable since it will cost us to cover it, not to mention the poor workmanship, and the simple fact that we do not have the insulation that was promised. We want them to remove the open cell since it is ugly and useless, as well as compensate us for the fact that we now have to hire someone to cover the mess they made of our barn.Business response

My Production Manager went up to the house to verify measurements with Mr. Waluda because he was concerned that we overcharged him.
Once the measurements of the walls and roof as well as gables were completed, it was validated the original measurements used for the submitted proposal was incorrect. We did in fact overbid the job based on his numbers compared to ours.My Production Manager walked him through the foam process and explained that smaller areas do not always look as smooth as it would in larger, more open areas based on the spray pattern. He understood this concept but there were areas that were large and open that aesthetically were very unpleasing.
We discussed the area of the sills along the left side of the garage that had some open cell foam in it. This was our sprayer's transition area from the open to the closed.He should have sprayed the open out into poly before installing. We have agreed to send Keaton back to remove the open cell and spray in closed cell on 8/13/21.
In response to the credit that will be issued, I have agreed to pay Mr. Waluda the $1,427 which should not have been included in the original bid. In terms of the additional credit I am able to provide, $500 will be the maximum amount I will be able to deduct from the original bid for the foam not being as aesthetically pleasing as what was originally explained to him by our sales representive who is no longer with the organization.
In total, I am willing to take off $1,927 which is a fair amount considering the fact that we are returning to remove some of the foam and replace it.
The last thing we would ever want is to have unsatisfied customers which is why we are doing everything in our power to make this right.
