On November 3rd 2021 I called Browns ******************************************* (**************************************************************************, **************) out when our furnace only blew cool air. They replace the control panel. I called the next day because the fan started to smell like something was burning after running for a few hours, shut off, and would not start up again for another few hours. The second technician said that nothing was wrong and that everything was fine in a very rude way. He then suggested that we replace the blower motor or get a new furnace. We declined because this sounded suspicious since our service technician said our unit was fine a few months prior. We stopped running the fan except in "auto". After three months it did the same thing when the fan was on auto. We decided to get a second opinion since Browns technician was suggesting replacing the whole furnace. We found that the control panel that Browns had installed was visibly fried after only 3 months of use (that was the burning smell after installation). After replacing it again all of the problems with the fan were resolved and we can now use our unit the way we did before Browns came out.According to the technician who fixed ******* mistake (who also has been servicing our unit for a few years) the control panel wiring was done improperly and caused it to burn. Also a 5 amp breaker was used where it should have been a 3 amp, a pressure switch was left dangling, and screws were left in the door tract that caused a corner of the door to be bent. Upon contacting ******* for a refund they lied to me and said that the part only had a one month warranty when the manufacturer actually has a one year warranty. Seems like if it were a faulty part then ******* could get their money from the warranty and refund me. If motor or furnace was bad then it wouldn't work perfectly like it is now after redoing their work. Lying about the warranty would make sense if it is obviously improper installation. (See Pictures)

This company does poor work, lies, and tries to sell things that are not needed. On November 3rd 2021 I called Browns ******************************************* out when our furnace only blew cool air. Brown's Heating & Cooling Response

    04/05/2022

On 11/03/21 you contacted us to schedule a service call. You informed us that you lost heat over the weekend and even though it was working again, you still wanted someone to come take a look. We went out and found that you needed a new control board. We replaced the board with a generic brand since OEM is not available due to the age of your system. The following day you called us back, informing us there was a burning smell and no heat. We sent a technician back over, at no additional charge, and found everything was operating properly. We cycled both the fan and furnace manually and found no issues. We informed you that the "burning smell" was most likely coming from the blower motor. Whenever that part begins to fail, a "burning smell" is the most common complaint. When equipment is operating properly while we perform our diagnostics, it can be difficult to pin-point what the exact issue is. We aren't the type of company that recommends replacing random parts until the issue is finally fixed. Due to the age of your furnace (22 years), we recommended you replace it. We made this recommendation as it makes the most sense when you are starting to deal with major repairs on an older unit. It is more cost-effective to replace the system instead of making multiple large and costly repairs.Four months later, which brings us to March 30, you contacted us and demanded a refund for ****************** or else you would leave us negative reviews. The control board the other company replaced was the same brand and part number as the one that we used. Our vendor where we got the control board from has a ZERO-day warranty on used electronical components. We (as a company) have a 30-day warranty on repairs. Had we been called out at any time between 11/04/21 and 03/30/22, we would have come back out for free to reassess the situation. If our repair was faulty for whatever reason, we would have extended our warranty policy and fixed the issue. The bottom line is that you did not provide us that opportunity, hence why we didn't submit to your demands and declined refunding your money. Our technicians are highly skilled and trained in our trade. We always stand behind our work
