I recently started working with ********************* on getting my existing deck replaced. He came out to give me an estimate and also came back out to bring samples of materials. During the discussion of pricing and payments via email his business email account was hacked and I received the wire transfer account to send the payment to from his business email with the incorrect ***** Fargo account number. Upon finding out that he had not sent that communication I worked with ***** Fargo to retrieve those funds but all efforts failed. I have spoken to Rob on several occasions and he denies any wrong doing or claim any fault in the matter even though the originating email came from his email account with details of 50% down at start and expected approx. project start dates. I was not the only victim, it also happened to another one of his customers around the same time from his account. I request a full refund of ****** to recuperate the funds lost due to his lack of business security.Business response

Affordable Views is aware of the issue **************** had. We originally went over the work on site some month's ago with ****************. We were still several month's from starting the work and declined to take any payment for the work yet.
Once the work start time was growing near **************** reached out to us in regards to when we were starting the work due to company he had coming in to town.
Just after this email communication or within this timeframe, we are not 100% sure because **************** was communicating with some one who hacked into the communications posing as Affordable Views. There communication is centered on around a Bank wire
request. **************** assumed sending a Bank wire to someone account was us? We originally explained earlier in the year on site when we are his house that we were to far out for deposit check at this time but would request a check when we started the work on
site. Payments were accepted via personal check. We are not sure why **************** did not call to confirm the request prior to sending monies, especially when we let him know a personal check was our only form of payment?
In closing, when **************** finally called us after not hearing from us I guess to see what was up, we explained he was most likely hacked somehow.? We asked him to call his bank which he did.
We have had our IT People look at our files, email web site etc. and can't seem to find anything.
We as well reported this to the *** and they have basically done nothing as they just don't have the resources for to keep up with all the similar attacks out there.
We obviously feel bad this happened however we do not feel this to be our responsibility because **************** was cyber hacked out of monies.
In closing we have been a member of the BBB SINCE **** AND THIS OUR FIRST NEGATIVE REVIEW. Turns out it's to no fault of ours?
We stand behind our ethics as a Company and are proud to serve the Colorado springs area for the pass 25 years.

I am rejecting this response because:He did not address that the security breach was not on my end. The security breach was done on his business account. I was not the only one impacted by his lack of security measures for his business. There was another one of his customers that is also fighting to recover lost funds due to his lack of internal safety protocols for electronic communications. We had been communicating using his business email account through out this entire process and his failure to take responsibility for his security breach is not acceptable. He has to take some kind of ownership and responsibility as this would never have happened if I had not been in communications with him.
