I received a text from Aspen Auto for a winter $99 special for oil change and tire rotation.I called and specifically asked if the offer applied to my car they serviced once before.I stated if there were any asterisks on this offer as I did not want any surprises.She said the offer applied to my car.When I showed up for my appointment today she informed me the charge would be $295.I asked repeatedly why did she not say this when I specifically asked when I first called.After multiple accusations that I misunderstood her and me countering with her lack of full disclosure was the issue , ********* the manager offered and withdrew his offer to honor the special as this was all my fault for not understanding her.His semantics of calling this a misunderstanding does not cover the clear bait and switch Aspen has a reputation for.I then agreed to pay full price as I was in a predicament and needed the car serviced as I needed to leave town for a family emergency.********* the manager then followed me to the parking lot and said hed tow my car if I did not leave.Previously I took my car to them for just an oil change. Countless calls later they notified me of all their diagnostics alerting me of so many things needing repair. I trusted them to be honest.Nearly 3k later I picked my car and I should have known better than to go back.My experience leads me to say no female should go here unaccompanied.While the general public rarely takes the time to tout a business it is a real time trainer to discuss negative experiences.This is why I told ********* in the parking lot he would regret refusing to service my car.I would not recommend this business under any current circumstances.Review from Pa G

January 3, ****, 9:00 am, Reported ******** Aspen Auto to FTC after receiving unwanted subscription text msg from ******** Aspen Auto Clnic that my number would receive their auto alerts. Filed report against them for not complying to remove my phone ************** not complying to STOP harass of my phone number. July 5, 2023 Reported **** **** ******** Aspen Auto Clinic to FTC for harassing my phone number with unwanted sales text messages. Mgr. D.sent text to my cellphone on 7/5/2023, 12:38 pm after twice requesting to be removed from this contact. FTC Complaint Report Continue to report Aspen Auto Clinic for violating, & harassing my phone number.April 10, 2023. The way ******** Aspen Auto serviced my vehicle choosing repairs that were not needed. I needed to have broken inside door handle fixed. The repairs ******** Aspen Auto Clinic garage chose to do was not necessary. The interior parts of door panel worked fine prior to bringing my vehicle to that auto repair service. I paid an exhorbitant amount for their repairs. ******** Aspen Auto Clinic wanted to charge me even more to fix the original problem of broken door handle. The service ******** Aspen Auto Clinic did to interior door panel caused further problems to my vehicle. Battery started losing power because of power drain that was found to be coming from their repair service to the interior door panel. I didn't have this power drain to battery prior to their repair service to my vehicle. I found reputable auto repair garage who fixed all the problems that ******** Aspen Auto Clinic did to my vehicle. ******** Aspen Auto Clinic pays their technicians by commission rate not an hourly rate. This maybe why Aspen Auto Clinic does repairs that are not needed & they can charge customer exorbitant rates. Auto repair garage I use now pays their technicians an hourly rate. ******************* repair rates are much better than ******** Aspen Auto Clinic.This post to BBB is true personal experience.Aspen Auto Clinic Response

We apologize for any inconvenience to this customer. A new communication program was installed and she was given the option to "OPT OUT" but instead chose to respond to the text instead of altering her communication preferences, as requested. Based on the customers response, we have manually removed her from all communication programs we use. We would also like to correct the customer as they are mis-informed about how we pay our employees. The technician providing the work is not a "flat rate" or "commission" technician. We do not respond to opinion on other businesses that are not ours and we remain pleased that they found a repair shop more suitable to their desires.Review from Kellie H

We have taken our vehicle to two Aspen Autos (**** and Union locations) and spent $1000s of dollars for new parts over the past 4 or 5 years. They refuse to work on items that have warranties they sold us with the new parts. We have verified with two other mechanics and auto part stores that these items are bad. Aspen mechanics only find problems when money is exchanged. They claim to "look" at the warranteed item but if they have to touch it or remove it to look further it will cost you. Never has a warranteed item been fixed without large amounts of money demanded by the owner.**** the vehicle to other mechanics and auto part stores for them to tell me that there is a problem without large amounts of money. The manager blatantly lied to me. (I have a recording of this)I suspect there will be A LOT more complaints once more people try and take their vehicles to this company for warranteed items.Review from Eric A

Professionalism, Quality, Value POOR April *****, 2022 As a dedicated 30 year public servant to the Colorado Springs metro area and I've worked many cases involving people in our community being taken advantage of. I was bit reluctant to write this review but I felt I owed it to the public to be aware and to always ask for proof or get a second opinion. I believe that this shop, the manager ***** the front desk staff to include the technicians have a communication training issue. I am concerned that other individuals who are not as knowledgeable about vehicles, they have given me the perception that others may be overcharged or getting repairs that are not really needed, this is based on my personal prior experience with the Jetstream location. My circle of contacts is very large and I can guarantee you right now I would never recommend Aspen Auto for any repairs, oil changes and felt invalid as a customer knowing that I have lost trust in there company. I have expressed my concerns with the management **** believing that I may also have the need to contact the owner of Aspen Auto including The Better Business Bureau for the safety of the community awareness.I've had my vehicle serviced at Aspen, North Jetstream for the last couple of years mainly doing oil changes as they had come highly recommended but they would always keep my vehicle all day even with an on line appointment first thing in the morning. Poor ***************** I recently had my vehicle towed after hours to the Aspen Auto on ****, due to my unforeseen circumstance, dropped off for the next morning on a Friday to have it evaluated. I called them at 10am asking if they received my truck as no staff called me. By the end of the day I received a call back telling me that I need a new engine (est 10-$14,000 for complete job, maybe) I was told they would get back to me as soon as possible. No call back on Friday till the next week, Monday which continued not with a phone call but with a with a textAspen Auto Clinic Response

******************,Thank you for taking the time to review your visit to our **** location. I understand how frustrating it can be to not receive great service. To your concerns, our records indicate the vehicle was towed to us after hours on a Thursday evening, with our check-in time of 5:55am Friday morning. By morning of the next business day (Monday, as we are closed on the weekends) we provided an estimate as a worst case scenario due to you declining any diagnosis time, that you approved. You later removed the authorization and declined any further diagnosis on your vehicle. Our Shop ******* offered to donate his time to remove the valve cover, for no charge, which you also declined. You made the decision to remove your vehicle to receive a second opinion at an alternate location. You are correct, that texting is our main platform of communication as we try and stay with the current times of advanced technology. I understand the communication was lacking and we can always improve on that aspect of our business, however, we find your accusation that we overcharge customers incorrect. While we know there are many options for cheap services available at other locations, we are not a discount retailer, and dont advertise as such. Our technicians are ASE Master Certified up to L3 status, and yes, they do demand a higher price for their services for their years of in-depth training. Your history with our Jet Stream location is well documented in our system and we appreciate the repeated business you have done with us. In another example of how our communication does need to improve we are not a quick lube operation that can provide oil and fluid services in 10 minutes or less. Our appointments reserve your spot with us for the day, as our Master Technicians generally have **** hour repairs along with any oil services that are scheduled for the day. I do apologize that we have failed to explain how we operate, and agree that we must be better at communicating with you and other clients. While typically we dont want to keep an oil change all day, in your case, each time youve added a service or 2 that required a longer stay of your vehicle over just having the oil service (which we thank you for!). I also appreciate you letting us know that your large circle of contacts wont get your recommendation for us, and we regret you feel that way. Thank you, sincerely, for taking the time to let us know where we are coming up short, and we hope you find this explanation and apology enough to forgive us in the future. Take care, and thank you for the previous years of business.
