    I've been trying to get a new sound processor since November. It is now February. Cochlear has been awful to deal with; it takes months for the company to get insurance approval. This is unacceptable. The worst part is, Cochlear won't tell the truth. Every time I called and asked, they couldn't tell me how much longer it would take. The standard answer is, it takes 6 weeks. So they took my money and I can't get in til the end of March to see the audiologist

    My husband and I started the process for my daughters hearing aids over the summer. Our audiologist submitted the required documentation and Cochlear gave us an estimate and obtained insurance approval over the course of a few weeks. They neglected to file the claim until I paid my coinsurance. When I submitted my credit card information to pay the coinsurance I was informed that my original insurance that I had when the process started was no longer active and they would now need to file the claim with my new insurance. This was two months after the process was started and well after my daughter received her devices. This is fraudulent practices. Claims should be submitted at the date of service which is when the devices are ordered and shipped to the recipient. They are doing trickery by stating that you are given a loaner device. With my new insurance I now owe double the amount that was estimated with my previous insurance.Cochlear is simply about profits over people.
