Jones Excavation was contracted to replace water main line to my residence and service was performed and completed on May 24th and 25th 2023 and paid in full shortly after. Dispute is in the difference between promised method and actual method used to perform the service and attitude of contractor with respect to damages done during the process. Verbal discussions prior to my commitment to use this contractor was that new water main will be placed by method of pulling new line through the expansion of the existing line underground with minimal excavation. This method was critical in my decision to go with this contractor. However after about 1 day of attempting the above method and continuously breaking the cable used to pull new line through the old (and ridiculously attempting to pull the cable with a backhoe which was being pulled by a truck) , I was presented with the alternative of trenching ~ 350 feet between the meter and the house through a field of established brome grass as the only option for completing the job. When I requested some sort of compensation for reseeding the disturbed area, contractor refused and offered full refund of my deposit; Which was not acceptable to me because at that time the old water line was already severed and the only way we had water to our house was through ~ 220 feet of garden hose!! In addition, contractor inflicted other damages during the process which ranged from breaking an insignificant $2 faucet y-connector to cutting off 1/2 of 2 priceless 30-year old growth Juniper trees and removing one 30-year old Russian olive without even mentioning it to me (I found out about them after the damage was done!!!)Business response
