We have epitomized patience and more than enough time for State Restoration to complete the job they were hired for. Our insurance claim began on September 2020, and since then the specific job they were hired for has not been completed. Our hallway bathroom was the reason our claim had to be filed, and since then all that has been completed is the flooring in the home, baseboards and paint. We have been our home for a year, once we were moved back in that same night we noticed a puddle of water in our kitchen underneath our oven. The contractor opened up the wall, to see if they could locate where the water came from. He ultimately narrowed I down to the water line from our fridge (which was connected back on from their contractors) or the house maid that they hired to clean our home. There is damage to our brand new floor that was just installed due to that incident. To this day that has not been fixed, even though the owners came into our home and advised us that they were going to take care of it. We have the permit from the city, and we had the funds to begin and finish the bathroom. Since the beginning state restoration has been set on asking for more and more funds both from the M******’s as well as my insurance company. The last time they asked for more money from my insrance it was granted and the bathroom should have been completed, instead they wanted to nickel and dime us for our tile, hot mop etc. At that point we had enough and wanted to be invoiced for the work they have completed on the home. I’ve asked for the invoice well over a month and its not fair that we can’t proceed with another contractor while our funds are tied up due to them dragging their feet.

The story being told by Mrs. M****** is not arcuate or truthful.

Yes, we were hired to perform repair from a water loss.

Yes, we submitted a supplement to her insurance carrier for the resulting damages for like/kind/quality, which their carrier tried to not pay, then agreed to pay a portion of the actual damages.

Yes, we gave the M******s a change order for upgraded items and items they never had prior to the loss.

Yes, they complained about having to pay extra from their requested upgrades.

Yes, they decided to not have us complete the bathroom repairs.

Yes, the new wood floor sustained damage in the kitchen area weeks, AFTER the floor was installed.  We attempted to locate a plumbing leak, there was none.  We changed the angle stop to the refrigerator line as a curiosity.

We believe that actual cause of loss was a failure of the M******’s refrigerator, unrelated to the original loss.  We did NOT connect the water line to the refrigerator as reported by Mrs. M******.

Yes, we are stuck to repair the floor which has been scheduled and the M******s are aware.

Yes, we gave then an updated invoice for the actual work performed, which has NOT been paid.
