Requested to be removed from email distribution list previously via link in email. Today, once again received another spam email from merchant

AdventureSmith Explorations is family-run business who values consumer privacy and takes all complaints seriously. We are sorry to see that our actions elicited a complaint, but in reviewing this case we think there should be swift resolution. We only wish the consumer had contacted us directly first since we could have assured them all was resolved regarding their request, same-day.
To provide a ****** picture, here is a timeline of events:
2/16/2022:
- Consumer completed a contact request form via AdventureSmith website.
- A thank you for contacting AdventureSmith confirmation e-mail was e-mailed to consumer upon form completion.
- Consumer left AdventureSmith Explorations a voicemail requesting call back.
- AdventureSmith sent consumer a direct e-mail response per consumers contact request form.
- AdventureSmith followed up with a phone call per consumers voicemail request.
5/22/2022:
- A marketing newsletter was e-mailed to consumer.
- Consumer opted out of newsletter (see screen shot). Our system removed consumer from all marketing lists. AdventureSmith confirmed guest was successfully added to Opt Out list on 5/22 and will no longer receive future communications.
- Consumer submitted a complaint to Better Business Bureau this same day.5/23/2022
- AdventureSmith received complaint from BBB.5/27/22
- AdventureSmith addressed complaint.
AdventureSmiths opt out records indicate consumer did not opt out of AdventureSmith advertising until May 22, after they received the email newsletter (see screen shot). AdventureSmith has no record of an earlier subscription management change or opt out attempt. If consumer may have used a different e-mail address in error, we are happy to look up other records to further satisfy their request.
