Virginia Mechanical , **** installed a new HVAC unit for the upstairs portion of our home. The old unit was leaking and was at least 14 years old. This was the same company which installed the old unit (was under the name Skelton at that time). So, we decided to contract with the company again to install a new HVAC system for **. The install date was June 2022. Since the installation, the company has had to come twice because the unit stopped working. We were told it was leaking the coolant and there were holes that needed to be welded. We responded with that was why we decided to buy a new unit in the first place. We don't want to start out with a defective product that has the same issues the old unit had. We believe we should get a new unit. Since it is now colder, we probably won't be using our air conditioner until next spring/summer. So, what happens if it is still defective. We (my husband and I) want a new unit. We paid $12, ****** for the new unit. That is a lot of money for a defective product. I do not want to be in a position that I may have to buy another unit after the warranty is over. This is not acceptable. This is a major purchase. I tried to contact the company who made the unit (RHEEM) with no luck. I found many negative reviews about RHEEM and its customer service and its products. I believe I should not have to deal with ***** directly. I think Virginia Mechanical should do this since this company is using and installing their products. I, as the customer, should not be the one to take care of the problem. I was advised once that it was somewhat like the "lemon law" for things like cars. It has to be proven that the unit is a "lemon" after attempted repairs. The employees at Virginia Mechanical have been respectful and nice to me, but honestly, I feel like I'm the one going to lose all this money on a HVAC unit that will continue to give me problems. I paid for a new unit, not an old defective one.Business response

Good Morning,
We are in the process of replacing the unit for the customer. We are just waiting on ******* for the new unit. If they MFG doesnt respond we will replace the unit anyways for the customer. Please let me know if you have any questions.
