      I simply don't understand why they make you give a star in order to give a review. How about a angry face or any emoji that depic how I really feel. How most people feel when they leave a bad review.This company charge me 69 dollars for a membership renewal that I never accepted. I never ever sign for renewal even when they are free because nothing is ever free. That beeb said they refuse to give me my money back, so beware. Use Ancestry DNA they have more honest practice than 23 and me. BE AWARE

      This company *****. Their customer service is horrible and not helpful whatsoever. The hold times are completely inaccurate and the callback option isn't even really an option. They've blocked access to raw data which is the entire reason I wanted to use this company to begin with. When I called to see how I can access it they told me that it would he available by the end of the week. The end of the week rolled around and it still wasn't accessible. I called back and they told me it would be pushed back to this week. The lady gave me a hard time when I asked to speak with a supervisor or manager stating they would just tell me the same thing. Steer far away and clear of this company!!!

      When 23andme got hacked they forced you to change your password, which is great. I went to change my password which then took me to sending an e-mail verification link, after clicking on the e-mail verification link it brought me to a page that says it sent my phone a 2FA push to an authenticator app. I never set-up an authenticator app with 23andme and furthermore looking on all authenticator apps on my phone nothing has showed up at all on ******* Authy, Duo, or ********** I first e-mailed back in November 2023 to ask for help, I didn't get any response. I called in December 2023 to be told that I would get an e-mail in 2 weeks. I got an e-mail in 3 weeks, which said I should click that I don't have access to the authenticator app which wasn't even an option which I responded and told them. After another two weeks I got a response back in January **** telling me to fill out a form that stated I gave 23andme my legal permission to turn off 2FA. I immediately returned the form, 2 days later I got a response requesting the form be in wet signature. I sent the form back in west signature on January 19th ****. Since then (about a month ago), I have sent an e-mail every 4 days asking for them to disable 2FA so I can access my account. I have gotten no response from 23andme for 4 weeks over about 12 e-mails to their support team. When calling they state that this can only be resolved over e-mail. I'm not sure what more I can do, I've tried using other e-mails, calling multiple times, LinkedIn messaging just so I can get access to my account. It makes me nervous that a company with such important data has such little value for their customer. I'm 3 months in to trying to get access to my account and I haven't been able to get any help at all from their team. In the meantime they have continued to charge my card and refused to stop charges until I get access to my account. This certainly feels against their agreement.

      I have been trying to get into my account for months. they tell me I have to change my password and when I try they never send back an e-mail to reset it. I talked to someone at their company and they said they would get back to me in a week, it has been over a month. I think the BBB should warn people this company turned into a scam because they are still advertising.

      Total scam....I get pop up and cross selling of services that are never explained in detail. One of them said I had a high ********** that I would not be bald or no hair on my back. I am bald and I have to have my back shaved monthly because of the large amounts of hair. Their algorithims are not correct, they try to mix in health habits people can log with their disjointed and inaccurate assesment of DNA. I have requested a full refund and removal of my DNA

      Terrible customer service.....can't reach a live body at a supervisory level. Say that can't refund membership fees, even when you try for a refund within 2 hour of them processing payment....I was lied to by someone on there "customer Care" team....use them to get your DNA done.....but don't do the membership.......

      The product doesn't come in discreet packaging making it easier to steal or see what it is. In my case it was a Christmas present for my wife and my wife received the mail and I'm down a gift. Most other companies ship in envelopes or boxes like ******* and Amazon, you can't tell what's in it, not 23andMe. I will not be using 23andMe. For myself I'll be going to Ancestry.

      After the recent data breach, I could not log on to my account. I changed my password and was still not able to log on. The prompt said that my e-mail or password was incorrect. That is not true. I tried to connect with customer care (boy is THAT a misnomer) and they created some "specialty team" ticket instead of helping me. I got an email asking for a copy of my driver's license (are you kidding, after a data breach?) and I sent them an email refusing and I asked if there was another way to verify my account. Criickets. Then a barrage of emails asking me to respond to their email, but in none of those emails, were there any directions on how to resolve the issue. I called customer care (again and again) and was told the same c*** - so basically, there is NO way to actually talk to anyone who could help me - no living person, except the customer (non) care folks. I have been chasing my tail for three weeks with no way of resolving the problem. This is BS. I need to talk to someone who can actually help me. Having to check even one star in this review is generous.

      Signed up for 23 and me + for $14.50 last year. Got emails and prompts when logging in that service would end if dont renew Nov 28. Then saw that I was charged $69 in October! Looked back at old emails and said I was on auto renew and would be charged $29 ( twice the sale price) so I turned off auto renew. Tried emailing the company and they didnt respond so then called and they said they raised their price from $29 to $69. and even though the service cut off isnt for a few days they cant give a refund! Also it wont allow me to remove my credit card information saved on my account (told that should only be the case if you are enrolled in auto renew which Ive turned off)!!! Hope they get in trouble for this! Charged over 4x what I originally agreed to pay for a year service!
